ABOUT EUGENIA CENTER

Eugenia Center, located in Chehalis, Washington, provides assessment and outpatient services, including intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and aftercare services, to adults struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders. Founded in 1991, Eugenia is currently the only nonprofit substance abuse treatment facility in Lewis County and one of only 183 private, nonprofits (42.8 percent) in Washington State. Eugenia has services available for both English and Spanish speakers.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Clients choosing the IOP program will be able to still work and live at home while also receiving a more intense level of care. During the IOP program, participants receive individual and group counseling, education lectures, and family counseling and support. Family members are considered an important part of the treatment plan and are included in weekly family groups throughout the program.

Outpatient programs also incorporates tools of 12-Step and assists clients in accessing 12-step meetings in their own community. Linkage to other community resources, discharge planning, and relapse prevention are also incorporated in the client’s treatment program. The general outpatient track includes all of the same services offered through IOP but with fewer hours of care per week.

Aftercare is available for anyone who has achieved sobriety through the various treatment programs offered at the facility. Aftercare support is especially helpful for clients who have a dual-diagnosis of mental illness along with their addiction, as this population may be more at risk for relapse.

The organization also provides educational programs including Alcohol & Drug Information School (ADIS) that fulfills legal requirements for anyone who has received a driving under the influence (DUI) charge in Washington State; the class is not intended to be treatment for a drug or alcohol addiction.
