ABOUT ROYAL LIFE CENTERS — OLYMPIA

Royal Life Centers operates 11 locations across Florida, Indiana, and Washington State. This branch, located eight miles west of downtown Olympia, Wash., offers a full spectrum of substance abuse treatment, from medical detox through residential and outpatient treatment to sober-living facilities. Medication-assisted treatment is available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Royal Life Centers requires 12-step meeting attendance for every individual. Transportation to these local meetings is provided, both to enable progress through the steps and to help clients to build a sober community.

According to the organization’s website, the residential program lasts two weeks. This program is built around individual therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group and family therapy, and psychiatric evaluation. Additionally, the program provides recreational opportunities, relapse prevention training, gender-specific education, and help with mental difficulties such as anger management, grief, loss, and depression. The center’s website also notes that a holistic angle is an important part of treatment at Royal Life Centers, and as such, experiential therapies such as drama, music, creative arts therapy, and outdoor training are offered.

Outpatient treatment consists of a nine-week program that passes through three phases of intensity — a partial hospitalization program (PHP) five days a week, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) three days a week, and weekly general outpatient treatment — followed by aftercare.. Program descriptions emphasize that clients follow individualized plans composed of a variety of specialized treatment tracks, and that in the third phase of treatment, there’s support with life skills such as résumé writing and interview practice. Holistic offerings include painting, drawing, sculpting classes, yoga, acupuncture, and Tai Chi.

After the nine-week outpatient treatment program, clients may progress to sober living — which is also divided into three stages — with increasing degrees of freedom given at each stage. The first 30 days in the main house are followed by 30 days in a house determined by the resident’s age (there’s a mature house as well as an adult house), and finally the life house. The center also notes that it offers ongoing alumni engagement and support.

  • Even though its the only detox center I've ever been to. I couldn't imagine any other treatment/detox center being better than this one. The care i received was phenomenal. It was the most comfortable detox I have ever experienced in my life. The staff, counselors, nurses and as well as the chefs. We're very kind and caring. And all went through great lengths to make sure I felt completely comfortable and at home during my stay at the facility. They all went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations tremendously. And some were able to connect with me on a more personal level and helped overcome some hardship and tramatic events that had happened in my past, That played a huge part in my addiction. So i just want to thank royal life center and all the staff for saving my life. My friends and family thank you all as well.
