ABOUT ROYAL LIFE CENTERS

Located just north of Spokane, Wash., in the suburb of Mead, Royal Life Centers is a substance abuse treatment center offering residential, outpatient (OP), partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP) and sober living options serving Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Detox services are provided on-site, making it one of 17 (four percent) of outpatient facilities in Washington state to offer detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Royal Life Centers offers an evidence-based, holistic approach to addiction treatment and works closely with each client to follow an individualized treatment plan. Treatment activities include individual counseling, group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life skills workshops, 12-step meetings, and gender-specific treatment tracks.

The nine-week residential or outpatient program is divided into three phases. Treatment is based on a 12-step foundation. Transportation is provided to and from the facility. Phase one, six weeks long, consists of treatment six out of seven days that includes medication management and individual therapy. Phase two reduces treatment to five days per week, and phase three introduces job readiness and life skills training to help clients return to the workforce.

Outpatient curriculum also includes experiential activities such as art and music therapeutic techniques, tai chi and yoga therapy, education classes centered around various topics, and nutritional and physical fitness education among others. In addition, services such as case management, employment assistance, and mentoring and life coaching are also offered.

Royal Life Centers also offers sober living homes to help clients readjust to life outside of treatment. Clients first stay at the more restricted Main Property living then transition to the Royal Residences, offering more freedom and an extended curfew. The Life House, the final transitory house, has no curfew.

Detox staff include certified addiction therapists, psychiatrists, and a 24-hour nursing staff. WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The nine former clients polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave Royal Life Centers mixed reviews.

Three out of four satisfied alumni gave the facility five stars for its treatment effectiveness and praised the program’s dedication to addiction education. “I learned about what addiction is and I gained tools that I use every day to stay sober. I don’t regret one day that I spent there and I am sober and clean today,” wrote Angelena in a representative review.

Elle, another alum, gave the facility a mixed review, telling Best-rehabs.com that while she would recommend the facility for its staff, there were also several drawbacks, including house managers with minimal sobriety and unprofessional attitudes, and very poor food options. “Food provided comes from Costco, mostly frozen, and there are no other shopping options at all,” she wrote.

Three reviewers, S.G., L.M., and C.K., complained of ineffective treatment and poor staff. “This treatment center’s staff does not supervise patients well enough… The staff is full of friends who are not strong in recovery instead of maybe qualified people,” C.K. wrote. L.M. added: “Most important, there is NO doctor on premise. I would NEVER recommend this recovery place.”

Royal Life Centers Reviews

They treat their employees like crap. The clients pretty much get to do whatever they want not sure how this place is even still running. The clients get a weeks worth of med all at 1 time, how is this good for an addict??? I'm pretty sure if the state knew how management was treating staff and running the business they would SHUT them down. Management covers up their mistakes to make others look bad instead of taking the blame.

  • Stay away from Royal Life Centers! Conditions are unsafe. Accommodation are dirty. Staff on hand will not respond to concerns. Other patients control the environment and make woman extremely uncomfortable and concerned for their safety. I was double charged for the original payment and had to make CC Company reverse charges. Let after a few days due to conditions and have been trying to get my 45% refund as stated in contract for over 2 months. This facility needs to be turned into every agency in the state of Washington to make them step up and provide proper care or be closed down Please contact me if you need any further explanation about this place

My loved one was able to get sober for the first time in years. There is ZERO family connection. Families are excluded at all costs and treated terrible by the "counselors." The "counselors" are barely trained and not qualified to be "counseling" a weak-minded person in recovery. They have huge egos and are not conducive to a productive, well-rounded recovery process. I would not recommend this facility for your loved ones. Family repair is the LAST priority for this facility. Please do your research and send your loved one somewhere where YOU can also be part of the recovery process.

I recommend Cascade Heights every chance I can. I have had two of my kids walk through their door for treatment of heroin and meth addiction I can't speak for the food, I didn't eat there, but my two never complained. They were fed and both gained (healthy) weight. The only consistent complaint, from both of them, was housing managers and how they were unprofessional, played favorites/played games with people. These two went to Cascade 2.5 years apart from each other so housing supervisors does seem to need some addressing. However, their program works. My two young adults are both still clean and sober and I owe it to their counselors and program!

  • The detox facility which I attended for eight days was beyond any expectation I could have had! My needs were beyond mad and I was treated with more dignity and respect than ever before at any other establishment! I highly recommend their detox facility!! Unfortunately I was not able to afford the inpatient and I am still trying to save enough money for it but the detox center is immaculate and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and supportive! Not to mention the amazing food!
As someone who had worked in the field for 25 years and am in personal recovery. I found myself looking for a quality treatment program for my daughter and her fiance in The Spokane, Wa area. I was at my wits end calling facilities, trying to find medical detox, and ended up calling the director at Cascade Heights. This program facility, staff, and owners saved my sanity and my daughter and her fiancé s lives. I appreciated their philosophy, the education and groups provided and the continuum of care. It is difficult as a parent to put one child in treatment and pray for recovery, but I had to put 2 in! Back to back. Cascade a Heights embraced me, these children, and now both have embraced recovery, and my baby grandaughter has 2 clean and sober parents. My gratitude is endless.

  • My recovery time @ cascade heights was a time I will never forget. It was not what I was expecting, a more hospital type environment but it was better than I hoped, accommodations meals transportation beyond my expectations. Most of all I learned about what addiction is and I gained tools that I use every day to stay sober. I don't regret one day that I spent there and I am sober and clean today.

  • Client education about addiction and re Lapses was a strength of the facility. However, they are still working out kinks w housing and staff. Was inpatient for 72 days for alcohol. Best thing I ever did

  • I recommend this place highly because of my counselor and the rest of the staff. But there are some drawbacks: Most of house managers have minimal sobriety, have a superior attitude, complain about how underpaid they are, are unprofessional, and completely lack empathy. Also, food provided comes from Costco, mostly frozen, and there are no other shopping options at all.

  • This treatment center's staff does not supervise patients well enough... The staff is full of friends who are not strong in recovery instead of maybe qualified people. They pay low so they can make a high profit margin.

  • Was admitted here after Spokane Detox, without my knowledge. We stayed in a 2 story house with a basement. Although the lodgings were not bad, the DIET provided WITH OUR OWN MONEY was horrible. They would go to Costco and buy a ton of junk food, frozen meals, cookies, crackers, chips, ice creme, etc. Fruit and veggies were also purchased but there was never enough AND THEY ARE USING OUR MONEY to buy this junk. We were told that you could put in requests, which I did, but my requests were never filled. It was ironic since out "diet" was always talked about and we were encouraged to eat healthy, yet, Cascade Heights did not provide the healthy foods required to eat healthy. Also, and most important, there is NO doctor on premise. I would NEVER recommend this recovery place and I would strongly urge anyone proposing to admit a loved one to KEEP LOOKING. I literally WALKED OUT and they were NOT HAPPY probably because they were going to lose so much money from my insurance policy.
