TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
To enroll in MAT at Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center, clients must have been opioid-dependent for at least one year and in withdrawal within the last 24 hours. However, exceptions are made for individuals who have transfered from another detox or treatment facility. During the intake process, which may last up to four hours, clinicians conduct physical and psychosocial screenings to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center utilizes a range of evidence-based medications, including Suboxone, Subutex, Vivitrol, and methadone. The medications are proven-effective in alleviating the discomfort of withdrawal and help curb opioid cravings. The type of medication and prescribed dosage is determined by the individual’s needs and health. As the client progressing into MAT, physicians continually monitor and manage the dosage.
While MAT helps to alleviate the physical issues associated with opioid dependency, Parkersburg Comprehensive Treatment Center also provides integrated programming to address the emotional, social and psychological contributors to addictive behavior. Clients are encouraged to participate in group and individual therapy sessions.
Counseling sessions are designed to help clients identify and address the emotions, thought patterns, and circumstances that may contribute to or be affected by addiction. Counseling sessions may help clients to process trauma, improve coping techniques, and teach relapse prevention strategies.
