Cliffside Malibu

ABOUT CLIFFSIDE MALIBU

Cliffside Malibu is located in Malibu, California and is renowned for its luxurious amenities and celebrity clientele. Our treatment center offers a comprehensive range of services for individuals facing substance abuse issues. These services include residential treatment, on-site detox, intensive outpatient treatment, and sober living support. We also provide treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to our website, Cliffside Malibu offers three levels of residential care: primary treatment (which may include detox), extended care, and continuing care. These levels of care have a combined duration of 90 to 120 days.

Our programming includes individual psychotherapy, group work, and recreational therapy. Our intensive outpatient (IOP) program involves daily programming with twice-weekly individual therapy sessions and small group meetings. All of our treatment programs are trauma-focused and evidence-based.

While we do incorporate the 12-Steps into our treatment, it’s important to note that we are not a 12-step treatment program. Instead, we prefer to use the Stages of Change model, particularly during one-on-one sessions. Our treatment staff also utilizes dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), positive psychology, transtheoretical psychology, and interpersonal neurobiology. We also offer holistic therapies such as yoga, personal training, meditation, massage, acupuncture, and equine therapy.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

At Cliffside Malibu, our treatment team consists of private physicians, master’s level therapists, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, fitness instructors, chefs, and more. We take pride in being the only treatment center with a full-time scientific researcher on staff. Our staff-to-client ratio is 4:1.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Our treatment center is situated on two acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean and provides luxurious amenities. Clients have access to a heated pool, private gardens, a fully-equipped gym, a sun deck, and gourmet meals prepared by a professional chef. Our dining room offers breathtaking 180-degree panoramic ocean views, and our bedrooms feature hardwood floors, boutique soaps, and Egyptian cotton towels. We offer both private and semi-private rooms, equipped with plasma TVs and wireless Internet access.

Cliffside Malibu Reviews

Bad service no one gave my friend the service he qneeded feel like he was just used for his money had to go to another place to have them help him out
These places are a complete scam. They offer a vacation for the well off and those who want to get everyone off their backs. This is why they do absolutely nothing for you during and after your stay. Because recidivism rates keep them profitable. Think about this. While you do that, watch this from John Oliver exposing the dirty side of this place and others. Vice News also interviewed the owner here and he was exposed. Why are all these news expose shows focusing on these scammers?
I was there in July of 2017 and it's just not quite what they make it out to be. The organic food comes in largely frozen and often from Costco. They prepare meals for many different houses there, so those that require a special diet often have to ask many times to get the food they can eat. They offer some "bells and whistles", but it is often difficult or chaotic to access these programs - they can't find a driver to take the group, there is no car available, or no gas in the car, etc. When clients mention, "hey, I think it's supposed to work a bit smoother than this" they are told to mention it to their therapist, who then tells them to mention in their exit interview. Basically, the underlying message is "you are a pathetic addict and we think you are demanding." For those who are keen on privacy... from the driver who loudly asks in a crowded public waiting room (you have to go to the lab for blood draws), "what's your drug of choice?" there just is no real privacy. The therapy is good, but you should know that whatever you share with your therapist and in group is accessible to the staff - even those staff that are not trained as therapists. Apparently, even staff who identify themselves as retired. Again, that message of "you are just a pathetic addict, why are you asking this" is conveyed. It's three thousand dollars a day - I think there must be a better way to spend this money to get the help with more privacy and without the shame.
nutritious food, beautiful setting, very supportive staff. It's been a few months since my cousin completed his treatment, and he's still doing great. It is quite pricey, but it's hard to put a price on successful sobriety My cousin, JB, has gone through other treatment programs with minimal success. They were able to substitute his drug and alcohol habits with productive and healthy new habits. He was so proud about his completion and new life, and we were all so happy to get our friend and family member back. I am so grateful. Thank you, Cliffside.
When it was evident my best friend needed to go to a rehabilitation center, I did my research to find the best one out there. I didn't want to spend time trying to help by finding a place that wouldn't really change her life. Looking back, it was a really hectic and stressful time for her and all of her loved ones but when I found Cliffside online I immediately felt like everything was going to be ok for her. Not only are the facilities and location amazingly beautiful, the staff here is truly professional and upon arrival were very welcoming and accommodating for her (and me). I knew she was in great hands and throughout her therapy I could really start seeing a shift in how she viewed her life. She became more confident and grounded again as she had been when I first met her. Also because of their wonderful nutrition program that they personalized for her, she looked healthier and told me she never knew she could feel that great with just eating the right food. The one on one attention she got is one of the valuable things I think helped her the most since the therapist she worked with was so knowledgeable and well trained. Now, not only do I have my friend back, I am confident that she is fully healed from her addiction and will continue to live a healthy life. Thank you Cliffside for everything.
