ABOUT NARCONON FRESHSTART RIVERSIDE COUNTY

Springing from research into issues of drug use conducted by the founder of the Church of Scientology in the 1960s, Narconon operates 45 residential rehab centers in 20 different nations across the world. Surrounded by forest and green hills in Warner Springs, Calif., Narconon Warner Springs is one of California’s only 216 (15.1 percent) detoxification and withdrawal treatment services for clients seeking recovery from issues of substance use. Non-medical social detox is also available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment is divided into three components: drug-free withdrawal, new life detoxification, and life skills. During withdrawal, a withdrawal specialist assists clients by providing nutritious support and special techniques aimed at easing discomfort and painful symptoms.

The detoxification phase is based off research proposing that residues of toxic substances remained in users’ bodies many years after initial use. The program aims to detox these chemicals from clients’ bodies through exercise, sweating in a dry-heat sauna, and monitored hydration and intake of vitamins and supplements.

In the final phase, clients develop life skills by identifying recovery objectives and honing a present-focused frame of mind, rather than dwelling on the past.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Narconon employs withdrawal specialists. In the state of California, 98.3 percent of substance abuse treatment centers have higher education requirements for staff. • No strengths, maybe just a few well-meaning, but not trained, people working there. ... Uses Scientology as it's whole program. Dirty, rundown, unsafe environment. ... Having a loved one addicted to drugs is a stressful and desperate situation and this facility totally uses that to their advantage. They lied to us from the first phone call to the bitter end. HUGE waste of money!
