Located in Westlake, Calif., Family Psychiatry, Counseling, & Wellness (FPCW) provides outpatient (OP) psychiatric treatment to clients in withdrawal from addictive substances. Although medications are used to alleviate symptoms, detox is not available at the facility
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients first go through an initial assessment and evaluation with a psychiatrist to determine their needs. Substance abuse treatment includes medications to reduce acute withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Mental health issues such as anxiety, sleep problems, depression, or mood swings are also addressed.
Treatment also includes counseling for underlying conditions that trigger substance abuse. FPCW can also make referrals to support groups outside the facility. Symptoms following withdrawal from addictive substances can also be addressed.
Alongside substance abuse services, the facility also treats various mental health issues in adults, adolescents, and children through methods such as brain chemistry testing. The facility also provides in-home services.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
FPCW employs a psychiatrist, a certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Master’s in marriage and family therapy, a marriage and family therapist with a Master’s in clinical psychology, and a certified behavior therapist.

Alum Nilo wrote that the brain chemistry testing was very accurate and helped them restore chemical balance through supplements.
On Google, 24 reviewers to date rated the facility an average 3.5 out of five stars, with nine negative reviews and 15 positive ones.[1] Negative reviewers complained that scheduling was difficult and prescriptions were inconsistent, but the majority of reviewers praised the staff and therapists as compassionate and aware of clients’ financial situations. FINANCING or CONCLUSION
For the psychiatrist, Initial consultation is $375 per hour and 25-minute follow-up visits or $175.00. Appointments with the certified behavior therapist is $100 for 50 minutes. More rates are listed on FPCW’s website. PPO insurances normally pay 60 to 90 percent of the amount owed to FPCW.
