ABOUT SUMMIT MALIBU TREATMENT CENTER

Summit Malibu Treatment Center is located in a gated community in Malibu, California. Our facility provides medically supervised detoxification services as well as short-term and long-term luxury residential rehabilitation options for adults dealing with addiction and dual diagnosis. Our treatment center is housed in a magnificent Spanish villa set on five acres of private land.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

All clients start with our short-term residential program called the Primary Care Program which lasts for 28 days. This program focuses on detox, if necessary, and stabilization. Clients have the option to extend their treatment through our Extended Care program, which adds an additional 60 or 90 days or more for those who require further treatment.

At Summit Malibu, we adhere to the disease concept of addiction and base our treatment programs on the core values of individualized care and extensive one-on-one therapy. Each client receives over 80 hours of individual treatment per month. While the 12-Steps do not form an integral part of our treatment approach, clients may choose to attend meetings as an optional addition. We also offer SMART Recovery meetings.

Our programs incorporate evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), biofeedback, and alpha stim. We also provide relapse prevention training, life skills and communication training, and education about addiction. Our family program includes education and brief strategic family therapy.

Summit Malibu Treatment Center Reviews

I was a client of Summit Malibu in May 2019. The staff was extremely kind and caring, and nursed me back to emotional and physical health. The therapists ran effective groups and were astute at offering individualized care. The chef was phenomenal - I can’t speak highly enough of him.
Ill-informed therapists and coordinators
A lot of bad practices and business goes on here . They care more about money then they do about the clients
Coming to Summit was my third time in rehab. This is the only place I have gone that gave me real individual therapy, like 9 times a week, and helped me deal with my issues. The groups were pretty good and it was more than just listening to a therapist--we did a lot of things as part of them, and even got to do a nutrition group each week where we got to cook. The food was awesome and they also took us on weekly outings which were very cool. I had a nice private room with a tv, nothing over the top, but nice and the bed was really good for sleeping. The best part though was the staff- they really made me feel like it was a big family and I belonged.
At least 5 individual therapy sessions a week, small/intimate, family like atmosphere. More beach outings would be great (once a week isn't always enough) I was here for 90 days, they helped me walk through a divorce, deal with trauma and untreated depression as well as my addiction. I now have 2 years of sobriety, and this place is still my "home".
