Pine Ridge Treatment Center, located in Lucerne Valley, Calif., offers residential treatment to men and women struggling with alcoholism and other addictions. The organization was founded in 1986 and operates four other locations in addition to the Lucerne Valley facility. The Lucerne Valley location is located in the high desert approximately 20 miles east of Victorville.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program uses the 12-step method. To be admitted, clients begin by contacting the facility directly to schedule an assessment. During the assessment, facility staff determine whether the Pine Ridge Treatment Center program is appropriate for the client’s needs and develop an individualized treatment plan.
Throughout treatment, clients receive individual, group, and family counseling. Clients in the program receive substance abuse education and learn that addiction is a chronic illness. They also become familiar with the self-help guidelines of Alcoholics Anonymous. Families are included in the treatment program through individual, group, and joint counseling sessions.
Aftercare is available for all clients who successfully complete the program. Alumni are eligible to participate in the Continuing Care program at Pine Ridge Treatment Center for up to one year following graduation.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team at Pine Ridge Treatment Center includes a multidisciplinary team of professionally certified employees who work under Dr. Keith Simpson. Dr. Simpson is a certified Addictionologist, Doctor of Public Health, and a past President of the National Council on Alcoholism. Each staff member has experience with 12-step groups and other community based interventions.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility offers shared and private rooms for both men and women in a serene desert campus setting. Pine Ridge Treatment Center in Lucerne Valley is situated on ten acres and provides client bungalows, a large group meeting room, laundry facilities, and a full kitchen and dining room.
REVIEWS
At the time of this writing there has been one family member of a client polled by Best-rehabs.com. The anonymous loved one gave the facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, four stars for accommodations and amenities, and three stars for meals and nutrition. She agreed that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and strongly agreed that facility staff are experienced and well-trained. She felt that a strength of the facility was that counselors were easy to talk to and made her loved one feel comfortable. When asked about weaknesses of the facility, she mentioned that it was hard to know how to support her loved one since he had limited access to phones. She also added that “The counselors seemed to care and want everyone to succeed.”
On the facility’s Yelp page, there is an overall rating of five out of five stars based on one total review. [1] The alum, J.A., called it an “amazing place to get clean and sober.” He gave the facility five out of five stars and wrote, “The staff is great, and the locations are local. They accepted my insurance and got me in right away for very little out of pocket. Pine Ridge saved my life and my job.”
