Skyway House’s mission is to treat the whole person —mind, body, and spirit — instead of simply focusing on the symptoms of drug and alcohol addiction. The substance abuse rehab offers a variety of treatment programs — residential, outpatient, and sober living — to provide each client with a level of care that’s both appropriate and effective. Along with individualized treatment plans carried out by a compassionate staff of certified addiction counselors, clients are provided with the invaluable tools and skills they’ll need to maintain a sober and healthy life.
ABOUT SKYWAY HOUSE
Founded in 1993, Skyway House is in the foothills surrounding the quiet city of Chico in Northern California, about 100 miles north of Sacramento. The facility offers residential care and detox for adult men and women seeking treatment for substance abuse. Medical detox is available on site. Aftercare planning is also available.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at Skyway House begins with a comprehensive assessment to determine the best method of treatment for each client. A team of medical staff members coordinate the assessment, and help clients create a comprehensive treatment plan. Clients must commit to at least 30 days of treatment.
Treatment plans combine 12-step programming with individual and group counseling, education on relapse prevention, medication management, and case management. Clients also participate in educational courses focused on developing sober living skills like anger management.
Family involvement is encouraged throughout the treatment process. The facility regularly hosts family activities which are designed to encourage residents to establish support networks. Family counseling sessions are included in the treatment process when appropriate.
Aftercare planning is included in the treatment process to help clients transition into society. Sober living facilities are available for clients that complete the residential program. Clients also work with case managers to develop a continuing treatment plan in their home communities.
The Continuing Care Group takes place at the facility on Thursday nights for free. Referrals to other facilities can be provided.

Clients share rooms with up to three other clients. The rooms have a camp-like feel with the decor. The rest of the facility is designed to create a warm and comfortable recovery environment using wood paneling and nature-inspired color schemes.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY

However, on Google, one alum was less impressed. The anonymous alum wrote: “This place poses as organized, well trained, and beautiful. First, you don’t get what you pay for; for $9k a month to “recover”. The place is far from beautiful, it’s an old school, that’s not updated.” [2] The other two reviews on Google were more positive, with alum Darin calling going into treatment “the greatest decision” he ever made.
