ABOUT SOLUTIONS FOR RECOVERY
Based in Dana Point, Calif., between Los Angeles and San Diego, Solutions for Recovery offers a variety of services for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The facility offers detox, outpatient care, and sober living support services. Professional intervention services are also available for clients that need additional help getting into rehab services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Potential clients and their loved ones can begin treatment by coordinating intervention services with Solutions for Recovery. Specialists complete interventions to help potential clients begin the process of seeking treatment. If treatment is desired after the intervention, clients can apply to the facility’s rehab programs.
Before beginning treatment, all clients undergo a series of preliminary interviews and evaluations by trained medical professionals. If needed, clients are admitted to the detox program which is overseen by a physician. Detox may include the use of Suboxone and Subutex as needed. Clients are gradually weaned off of opiates at a rapid pace using both medications to manage the symptoms.
Once stabilized, clients typically move on to the center’s outpatient program, which provides therapy and coaching designed to help clients transition back to their everyday lives. Clients participate in individual counseling sessions, as well as group work to help them transition out of more structured treatment modalities. Clients also work through sober living skills development and coaching to prevent relapses and to successfully transition out of treatment.
Solutions for Recovery utilizes the “Florida Model” of care management where clients in the program may reside at one of the organization’s sober living facilities for the duration of their care. The traditional residential programs are not available as clients are not housed in the facility for treatment. Rather, the housing is used as a transitional housing unit during treatment.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
According to the Solutions for Recovery’s website, its treatment team includes a physician, master-level counselors, licensed social workers, case managers, and certified addiction counselors. All staff members have the experience needed to provide support to rehabilitation clients. The facility is CARF-accredited, so staff members are required to maintain the appropriate licensing and certifications.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Clients undergoing treatment at Solutions for Recovery may choose to reside in one of the center’s homelike residential facilities, but it is not required for treatment in programs other than detox. Online photos feature shared bedrooms, a modern kitchen, and comfortably furnished common areas. Clients have access to massage therapy and fitness equipment, and the area provides a variety of recreational options like golf, fishing, and boating. Additionally, pets are welcome to accompany clients during their stay.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The two alumni polled to date about Solutions for Recovery provided mixed feedback. One respondent gave the facility five out of five stars for its treatment effectiveness, accommodations, meals. Alum Michelle wrote: “They literally saved my life. Great, educated, and non-judgemental staff.”
The second alum polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing noted that they would not recommend Solutions for Recovery to others. This anonymous respondent gave the program’s treatment effectiveness two out of five stars, indicating a discrepancy between the center’s marketing and what it actually offers. “Admission staff misrepresents programming ańd quality of smenities. For instance, i was told the house has a swimming pool when in fact it dies not,” they wrote.
On Yelp, reviews were mostly positive. The facility earned 4.375 out of five stars from eight reviews to date. Many alumni noted that the facility was satisfactory and praised the program’s effectiveness. In a representative review, alum Robert wrote: “The staff at Capo is top notch. From the house Manger to the counselors. The house is absolutely beautiful. And the food was better than most restaurants Ive been to.”
FINANCING
Treatment costs at Solutions for Recovery are not posted on the facility’s website. However, private insurance is accepted and can be verified by filling out a form on the website. It is not clear if self-pay or public insurance like Medicaid is accepted.
