ABOUT CENTER POINT INC.- SAN RAFAEL, CA

Center Point Inc, located in San Rafael, Calif., offers a full continuum of residential and outpatient treatment to adults, children, and ex-convicts struggling with substance abuse and other social issues. Center Point was founded in 1969 by two individuals who were recovering addicts themselves. The program quickly grew by 1971 to provide services to three different states including California, Oklahoma, and Texas and has continued to expand its services throughout those states to current day.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s treatment program follows an evidence-based treatment philosophy with a goal of integrating individuals back into their communities following rehab. In order to be admitted, clients should contact the facility directly to speak to someone about receiving treatment and which services are right for them.

The adult program incorporates counseling, skills training, and supportive services in an attempt to stop the cycle of substance abuse while beginning to train clients on community integration. The residential program takes a psychoeducational approach along with traditional therapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychosocial skills training. Clients are given vocational and career training as well. The residential programs are divided into separate male and female groups. Clients typically remain in treatment from three to six months.

Outpatient services at the facility provide clients with support in reaching education and vocational goals, support in reuniting families, and therapy to achieve and maintain long-term recovery from substance abuse. Clients receive individual and group counseling based on their needs. The facility offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and court-mandated outpatient therapy.

Clients who have completed outpatient treatment may also receive continuing and aftercare services including post-treatment support, recovery maintenance, family support, and case management.

The women and children’s program is a gender-responsive, trauma-informed program offering comprehensive services for pregnant women with children facing homelessness, unemployment, victims of trauma/abuse/domestic violence, criminal behavioral, mental illness, or substance use disorder. Separate residential programs are available for women with children, women who are ex-offenders, and those who are participating in the IOP program.

The facility also offers specialized services for veterans, correctional services, vocational housing and supportive services, a medical clinic, and consultation and training for private and public sector companies/agencies.
