A chemical dependency (alcohol/drug) problem is a complex, multifaceted disease which affects the whole person. A chemical dependency problem is democratic; it does not respect age, sex, race, creed, national origin, education, intellectual level, socio-economic group or preference. It may disrupt a person’s physical, psychological, interpersonal, emotional and spiritual life. It can be diagnosed through behavior changes and family problems: Chemical dependency affects biological, social, vocational and educational interactions and thus can disrupt such environments.
ABOUT TWIN TOWN TREATMENT CENTERS IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD
Twin Town Treatment Centers (TTTC) operates six substance abuse treatment facilities in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The North Hollywood location serves San Fernando Valley and treats both adults and adolescents aged 12 to 17 through its suite of programs, which include day treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, continuing care, and a relapse program.
TTTC also offers drug and alcohol education and alumni groups, and counselors can coordinate detox services for those who require medical attention (though detox is not offered on-site).
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
An initial interview and assessment is offered to all potential clients at no cost. Based on findings from this assessment, clients may be enrolled in day treatment, which includes eight hours of treatment per day for up to six days a week, or intensive outpatient treatment, which consists of three hours of programming a day for up to six days per week.
Care is tailored to each individual’s needs, but program components typically include individual counseling, 12-step groups, family therapy, and group counseling, as well as educational workshops to help manage stress, develop communication skills, and learn about addiction as a disease. As participants progress through the program’s phases, their number of weekly treatment hours decreases.
Graduates of these programs may participate in continuing care and join TTTC’s alumni support group. Clients are typically enrolled in at least four months of twice weekly aftercare sessions. There is also a relapse track, which includes 10 sessions of IOP treatment and is available to individuals who have completed the IOP program but experienced a relapse.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Though the facility’s website does not specify the credentials of its treatment staff, it does mention the use of partnerships and referrals with mental health professionals, such as community-based therapists and primary care physicians, to give clients a comprehensive treatment plan.
TTTC is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the State of California.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Alumni reviews are limited, but two former clients surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date gave their experiences high ratings. One anonymous alum gave their treatment a four-star rating (on a scale of one to five) and noted that they would recommend the facility to others. They also wrote: “good program which was very hands on and got to the root of the problem.” The other alum awarded five stars for treatment effectiveness, but connectivity and staff’s ability to treat co-occurring mental health disorders dipped to medium to low ratings. Both reviewers commented on the lack of amenities and gave low, one- and two-star ratings for holistic treatment options.
On the facility’s Facebook page, there are two five-star ratings and a four-star rating.[1]
WHAT STAFF SAY
Staff reviews are also scarce, but one employee took the time to offer their thoughts on Indeed. All together, there are six reviews on Indeed, and ratings averaged 3.8 out of five stars for various locations.[2] The anonymous counselor described TTTC North Hollywood as a “company that allows their counselors to practice and implement the 12 core functions daily,” and added: “Twin Town Treatment Center allows for growth and opportunity.”
FINANCING
TTTC works with a number of insurance companies and contracts mostly with HMO and PPO plans. According to its site: “Twin Town is one of the lowest cost providers, providing some of the most flexible payment planning available.”
