ABOUT DENVER DRUG TREATMENT CENTERS

Serving Colorado and beyond, Denver Drug Treatment Centers offers upscale, specialized inpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs dedicated to treating chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders, making it one of the 201 (50.4 percent) facilities in the state to specialize in this area. To help clients achieve and maintain sobriety, Denver Drug Treatment Centers combines evidence-based practices and 12-step programming with alternative and holistic treatment methods. Where necessary, medically supervised detoxification services, which are only available at 17 (4.3 percent) Colorado facilities, are also available on-site here.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To form a personalized treatment program and determine an appropriate level of care, clients may first undergo an initial substance abuse assessment. If medical detoxification is required, the center provides monitoring and medication-assisted therapies (MAT) – such as methadone for opioid dependency and Diazepam for methamphetamine addiction – to minimize withdrawal symptoms and help curb cravings. In Colorado in 2016, the number of individuals ages 18 or older who used heroin was .35 percent. Clients in need of a more supportive, supervised living environment to facilitate early recovery may be referred to the inpatient program.

Treatment programming blends evidence-based treatment methods, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), with the 12-Steps. Clients keep to a structured schedule of individual and group counseling sessions, while families may attend counseling sessions and recovery education. Aside from these traditional treatment methods, clients have access to a range of holistic offerings including auricular (ear) acupuncture, equine therapy, chiropractic care, therapeutic massages, yoga, and art therapy.

For those keeping the faith, the center runs a Christian-based program track. Dual diagnosis treatment involves stress reduction strategies and medication management. Available as either a stand-alone program or a “step-down” option from inpatient treatment, IOP sessions focus particularly on relapse prevention and recovery maintenance.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Denver Drug Treatment Centers employs a medical staff to oversee detoxification and a team of specialized clinicians, such as licensed professional counselors, to facilitate the evidence-based treatment program. In Colorado, 95.3 percent of substance abuse treatment centers have continuing education requirements for staff.

In addition, two individuals surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date gave ratings of four and five stars for the staff’s level of training and experience.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding its living arrangements and related offerings; however, the average number of clients in substance abuse treatment at an OTP facility as of 2016, was 300 outpatient clients and 32 residential clients.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

At the time of this writing, the sole alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com left minimal written feedback but shared an overall positive experience. This former client gave high ratings across the board: four stars went to exercise and leisure activities, holistic offerings, and counseling options; five stars were given to treatment effectiveness, the connectivity policy, and family participation. When asked about facility weaknesses, this individual wrote, “none.”

Feedback from alumni elsewhere online was similarly scarce, but the sole reviewer on Yelp to date gave the facility just one star.[1]

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Two loved ones shared feedback with Best-rehabs.com to date. The first, a cousin of a former client, awarded five- out of five-star ratings for more than a dozen treatment areas evaluated, including the family participation, counseling options, admissions and discharge procedures, and holistic treatments. “My cousin was really far gone and this is the only place that she was able to get her life back,” this individual wrote.

Though the second loved one did not leave ratings for many aspects of the facility, this friend of a client reported their active involvement in the treatment process to Best-rehabs.com: “There was family counseling. My active role in her recovery was speaking directly with her about recovery and healing.”
