ABOUT SANDSTONE CARE

Sandstone Care is a reputable drug and alcohol treatment center located in Denver, Colo., specializing in the treatment of teens and young adults. We also provide treatment for co-occurring disorders. Our center offers a wide range of treatment intensities, including sober living, partial hospitalization (PHP), outpatient, and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Please note that medically supervised detox is not available at our facility.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission, new clients at Sandstone Care undergo a comprehensive evaluation to determine the most suitable treatment approach. Based on the assessment results, an individualized treatment plan is created to address the unique needs of each client.

Treatment at Sandstone Care includes evidence-based practices such as individual, group, and family therapy, along with educational workshops on addiction. Clients also participate in community-based activities in Denver. Our sober living program lasts 90 to 180 days and provides long-term treatment for individuals who have already completed more intensive in-patient or detox programs.

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) lasts from 5 to 30 days and involves 35 hours of programming over five days a week. Clients live at home or in a sober living facility. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) lasts from 60 to 90 days and entails 17 hours per week of treatment programming.

In addition to clinical programming, Sandstone Care offers academic and vocational support to help clients establish a healthy and productive lifestyle after completing treatment. This may include tutoring, job coaching, and life skills training. We also strongly encourage full family participation in our weekly family programs, as we believe a strong family system is crucial for recovery. After completing the program, clients are encouraged to enroll in our aftercare outpatient program, which lasts for 90 to 180 days.

Sandstone Care’s treatment team includes a psychiatrist, dietitian, physicians, therapists, and other qualified behavioral health professionals.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Our sober living program offers modern, fully furnished, and gender-specific residences for men aged 18 to 30. Located in a neighborhood near the light rail, our facility provides convenient transportation to metro Denver. Residents are expected to participate in communal chores such as cooking and cleaning.

I honestly don't know where to start. I have so much respect for this facility and this team. In the 8 weeks my son was in the IOP I was not necessarily hopeful, I went in thinking it might make a bit of an impact. I was SO wrong, not only did he finish his 8 weeks drug free, he came through those weeks with a sense of himself, with hope and a great experience with a community that he became very close to. One on one therapy, 4 nights a week of group therapy, one on one therapy with parents, one 3 hour family night a week. I could go on and on. This is my second involvement with a treatment center, and they are two totally different animals, The Meadows in Arizona came to us through a therapist, what a waste of time and a huge price tag, from intake to finish it was a disappointment, conversely Sandstone proved their program from day one, their involvement in every client is apparent, I am not assuming that, I heard it from almost every single client that was in my son's group, I experienced it in my therapy sessions with my son and with the weekly family nights. The very strange thing is I personally will miss the support of this group of people who make up the staff at Sandstone and my weekly family nights that I not only got to spend time with my son and his peers but to learn. I cannot recommend this facility enough if you are going through a crisis in your family or life, they truly CARE.

Treatment Effectiveness

My young adult daughter with a dual diagnosis recently did an assessment at Sandstone in Rockville, MD. I was hopeful that as a new option in the area that they were different. The same old thing...tell you how they are different and offer all of these wonderful services to help your loved one, but they have to do ABC before they can help. I understand the loved one has to want to get better, but isn’t that what treatment is for. Let’s see, if you had cancer and went to the Dr.; can you imagine them saying, once you get rid of the cancer, come back and see us to continue your journey to be cancer free. Wake up people and stop with all the perfectly worded websites and false hope. It is hard enough trying to get your loved one to treatment, only to be told, do this and then we can help. Really? BTW, I have a PPO and they said we can give you some referrals...of the two names they offered, neither took insurance and they said they really didn’t know anyone that they treated. Kolmac seems to be the only group in the area that truly meets the person “at where they are at” and offers help based on the individual.
