ABOUT RUSHFORD AT STONEGATE
Rushford at Stonegate is situated on a 43-acre campus in rural Connecticut and offers comprehensive residential addiction treatment programs for adolescent men ages 13 to 18. As part of the Hartford HealthCare network, Rushford’s five facilities are licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the Joint Commission. Please note that detox services are not available at this location.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at Rushford at Stonegate begins with a thorough assessment by our clinical staff to determine the individual client’s specific needs. Each client then meets with a team of specialists who identify the appropriate treatment methods and enroll the client accordingly. Treatment takes place in a gender-specific environment that fosters recovery, involving individual and group counseling sessions. Our approach incorporates the principles of the 12-step program and The Seven Challenges. We also provide physical education and recreational opportunities for teens, as well as coordinate with their home schools to create personalized tutoring plans.
Family therapy is highly encouraged during the treatment process, offering group therapy and various activities to facilitate the rebuilding of family relationships.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team at Rushford at Stonegate includes a board-certified physician, child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed psychologists and therapists, a registered nurse, and a certified recreational therapist.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Rushford at Stonegate’s 43-acre campus features a recently renovated facility that accommodates up to 16 adolescent males. The facility offers private and semi-private rooms, as well as a range of amenities including sporting equipment, exercise machines, soccer and baseball fields, and an adventure ropes course. Educational services are available through a partnership with the local school district.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Currently, Best-rehabs.com has received feedback from two loved ones regarding Rushford at Stonegate, both of which were positive. One individual rated the staff’s level of training and experience, family participation, holistic treatment options, and admission/discharge process with five out of five stars. Affordability received a three-star rating. The effectiveness of the treatment was highly praised, with the loved one stating, “It was for a family member and it proved to be very successful in treating underlying problems and getting back on track.”
The other loved one, J.G., did not provide survey feedback but expressed that Rushford is a wonderful place with a very caring staff.
On the facility’s unofficial Facebook page, Rushford at Stonegate has received two positive reviews and one negative review to date. Please note that it’s important to consider that two of the reviews may not pertain to the facility itself. One anonymous reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of mental health groups provided, stating, “there are NO mental health groups in there. The whole place revolves around recovering addicts, which is great, but it does not help in any way to the mentally disabled.”

Ratings of four out of five stars or higher were given to the facility for holistic treatment, counseling options, and staff experience, while family participation received a three-star rating.
