ABOUT CIRCLES OF CARE, INC. – TWIN RIVERS TREATMENT CENTER
Located on the mideastern coast of Florida in Melbourne, Twin Rivers Treatment Center offers residential substance abuse treatment for adult men and women. Medically monitored detox services are located on-site.
The facility is part of a nonprofit called Circles of Care, which was founded in 1963 to provide behavioral health care to Florida residents.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to the facility’s website, the treatment approach at Twin Rivers is holistic and addresses all aspects of a person’s makeup — mind, body, and soul. The facility’s website provides little information about treatment specifics, but does note that the program offers medical services, individual and group counseling, family therapy, and addiction education.
Jim, the one alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, indicated that the counseling was effective -— he said that the “no frills approach went directly to the issue of addiction,” and he awarded the facility five out of five stars for its overall group therapy.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The center’s website notes the Circles of Care treatment team includes a chief of medical staff and staff psychiatrist. Alum Jim gave the facility five out of five stars for its staff support.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
While they do not say how many are designated to the Twin Rivers Treatment Center specifically, the Circles of Care website reports that the organization as a whole offers 50 licensed residential and treatment beds, 18 licensed chemical dependency detoxification beds, and 12 licensed chemical dependency intensive residential treatment beds.
Of the three individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, two gave two out of five stars for accommodations and amenities, while the other gave just one star.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The lone alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, Jim, gave the facility a mostly positive review. Even though he awarded the facility just one out of five stars for its treatment effectiveness, he noted he had been in many high-end rehabs throughout the years and that Twin Rivers’ no-nonsense approach was effective for him.
The five individuals who left a review for the treatment center at the time of this writing provided an average of four out of five stars. [1]
Counselors and other staff were praised in particular in three of the five reviews. “The 28 day program was awesome,” alum Julie wrote. “The counselors are the best.” Neil agreed: “Staff is wonderful.”
In the only negative review, one-star reviewer Brian cited too few recreational activities to occupy his time and meals that were “worse than prison food.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
The two loved ones surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the facility mixed reviews. One anonymous loved one noted that while the facility was affordable, but there was not enough supervision. Nevertheless, when asked on a scale from one to five, if they would recommend the facility, they gave the facility a rating of four.
The other reviewer gave the facility negative feedback because treatment did not work for their loved one. “I don’t know of any strengths because he came out and went right back to using,” they wrote. “He said they let him rot in there and did nothing to help him detox and no counseling It overall seems like a place one would not want to go if they were trying to get clean for good.”
FINANCING
According to the facility’s website, Circles of Care accepts some private insurance, along with Medicare and Medicaid.
