ABOUT HEALTHCARE CONNECTION OF TAMPA

HealthCare Connection of Tampa offers long-term residential treatment for men and women struggling with substance abuse. Most treatment plans last between 60 and 90 days. Programs treat co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Specialized programming for young adults, women, healthcare professionals, and attorneys is available, and detox services are provided on-site. The center also offers evening outpatient sessions.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to HealthCare Connection of Tampa’s website, upon intake, clients undergo an assessment, which is used to create an individualized treatment plan. Programming varies from person to person, but most treatment plans are divided into three phases: acclimation and detoxification, concentration on core issues, and reintegration into daily adult life.

The center utilizes a variety of therapies and treatment techniques. As they progress through the phases, clients can expect to participate in 12-step meetings, group therapy, individual counseling, and neurobiofeedback. Loved ones of clients are encouraged to participate in the center’s support groups, therapy sessions, and intensive family weekends.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

HealthCare Connection of Tampa’s website notes the treatment team is led by a medical director and includes an addictionologist, master’s level counselors, a psychologist, and a certified biofeedback practitioner. Some staff members have personal experience with addiction and recovery.

  • The different programs geared toward the different substance problems. I like how they treat the problem and give the patients solutions to their type of substance problem.
I had psychiatric issues, NOT alcohol/addiction issues. Those were ignored in favor of a cookie cutter approach to treatment given to every single person there regardless of the reason

  • Counselors, and techs truly care and are in recovery themselves. The grounds, classrooms, and the apartments used for clients are disgustingly dirty and are in need of repair. The director is a manipulator and even though they do care about clients, it is apparent that what's most important to those in charge is making money.

  • Women's program needs help. Young, inexperienced therapist - use outdated addiction treatment modalities. Female techs seem to intimidate therapists regarding pts. Treatment plans. Sexism is present - men have more priviledges then women. Program has potential but needs more experienced therapists. Overall, caring attitude from most staff but living situation is depressing and no coping skills taught. Most clients are disgruntled but play the treatment game.

  • Many on staff are in recovery themselves and can, therefore, relate to the patients. They truly care, and that shines through. This place saved my life!! Very well-rounded program. Caring staff. Not enough individual attention.
