ABOUT NEWBRIDGE RECOVERY & WELLNESS CENTER
Conveniently located off Interstate 4 in Winter Park, Fla., only a few minutes north of downtown Orlando, NewBridge Recovery & Wellness Center is a Joint-Commission accredited outpatient center dedicated to treating adult men and women who’ve gone through traumatic, drug- or alcohol-related experiences. The outpatient center provides dual diagnosis treatment, medically-monitored detox, intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs, DUI counseling, and continuing aftercare relapse prevention.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
NewBridge’s admissions counselors guide prospective clients through the intake process. Treatment is holistic in nature – addressing addictions to alcohol, opioids, heroin, and other substances – and built around a client’s schedule.
The center’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) is designed for individuals transitioning from an inpatient facility or residential treatment as well as those previously unsuccessful in a lower level of outpatient care. Taking place Monday through Friday, the PHP begins with a comprehensive medical and psychological assessment and typically follows with a schedule complete with private and group therapy, recreational therapy, and yoga & meditation.
A lower level of outpatient care that requires 10 to 12 hours of attendance a week, Newbridge’s IOP involves one-on-one counseling with a licensed counselor as well as forming healthy relationships with others in group therapy. In addition to yoga and meditation, IOP participants have opportunity for restorative breathing practices, art and music therapy, and creative writing.
NewBridge aims to involve family members and other loved ones in the recovery process by inviting them for educational and counseling sessions. It also partners with several State Licensing Boards to help clients regain their professional license in nursing, medical work, teaching, and law enforcement.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The staff at NewBridge includes two physicians, a certified addiction registered nurse, licensed clinical dependency counselors (LCDCs), psychotherapists, and other bachelor’s and master’s level healthcare professionals.
A yoga and a fitness instructor are also both on staff.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Five of the six alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date reported having positive recovery experiences at NewBridge, each of whom awarded the center a perfect five stars for treatment effectiveness. Collectively, alumni described the staff as “helpful and caring,” “professional,” and “experienced and knowledgeable.” “The staff has always been incredible with me and have supported me even if I relapsed,” alum A.K. recalled in a detailed statement.
Former client Nicolas, however, gave the center only one star for treatment effectiveness and complained that therapists “don’t care a bit about your well being, you’re just a number to them.”
On NewBridge’s (likely vetted) Facebook page, each of the 11 individuals awarded the center a perfect five stars.[1] In one such report, Clayton celebrated the center’s variety of program options, likening it to a “cheap alternative to state-funded facilities.” And Lynda found the staff “warm and caring.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Feedback provided by two loved ones was more mixed. Parent Erica told of her daughter’s positive recovery outcome: “It’s been like over 6 months since she left NewBridge and hasn’t used crack or heroin since.” Yet Casey was critical of the enormous price tag on the four toxicology tests the center conducted for her son. “Please avoid this facility at all costs,” she warned others.
“Very caring and professional staff, they saved our son,” Jay, a five-star Google reviewer wrote. “Highly recommended.”[2]
