The Oasis at Tampa Community Hospital

ABOUT THE OASIS AT TAMPA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

The Oasis at Tampa Community Hospital, formerly called Town and Country Hospital, is located in Tampa, Florida and provides hospital-based/medically supervised detox and outpatient treatment for adult men and women struggling with substance abuse. The facility perceives addiction as a treatable disease, rather than a weakness, and endeavors to provide a private and comfortable environment for clients to recuperate. Positioned on the second floor of Tampa Community Hospital, clients receive 24/7 medical care and can be swiftly transferred to the medical floor in the event of any complications during detoxification.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The facility’s treatment offers round-the-clock medical supervision during the detoxification phase. Clients are admitted to the program seven days a week, 24 hours a day, pending insurance approval if applicable. Prior to admission, clients undergo a screening process to determine the appropriateness of placement, and staff provide assistance with verifying insurance coverage. The majority of clients remain in detoxification for a period of three to seven days.

Medication, including Suboxone and Campral, is administered throughout treatment. Clients will also be given a prescription at the time of discharge based on their individual needs.

Clients receive education on addiction during their stay and may engage in group therapy or individual counseling. These services may continue on an outpatient basis following detoxification. The hospital also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program, which meets three evenings per week. Additionally, the facility can assist clients in connecting with community support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) to further support their recovery after rehab.

Families are included in the treatment program through support services that provide addiction education within the context of family dynamics. Alumni and their families are eligible to receive aftercare services for up to two years following treatment.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team comprises medical staff available 24/7, including registered nurses who are specially trained in addictionology. Physicians are present for daily conferences to discuss diagnostic testing reports, patient progress, discharge status, and plans for continued recovery after detoxification.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The facility offers 16 private bedrooms, accommodating both male and female clients, in a hospital setting. Each room is equipped with fully adjustable hospital beds to enhance client comfort while prioritizing safety. On-site laundry facilities are available. Most clients stay on the unit for three to seven days during detoxification. Cell phones, electronics, laptops, and items requiring a wall socket are not permitted. The facility provides all necessary food, medication, and personal hygiene items.
