ABOUT OPERATION PAR, INC.

Founded in 1970, Operation PAR, Inc. operates multiple substance abuse treatment centers located throughout southwestern Florida. While the nonprofit organization offers a full continuum of programming, including detox and residential treatment, the center’s clinic on 4th Street in St. Petersburg exclusively provides outpatient treatment. The facility serves both adolescents and adults, and special services are available for the deaf and hard of hearing populations.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To be eligible for outpatient care, individuals must not be in need of medical detoxification services, and they must have stable living arrangements. Prior to beginning treatment, each client undergoes a comprehensive assessment designed to help clinicians develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses the client’s needs, strengths, and goals.

According to its website, Operation PAR’s outpatient program aims to equip clients with the support, education, and coping tools needed to achieve sobriety and stabilize their home, work, and school environments. Treatment combines individual, group, and family counseling, and groups are conducted in both coed and gender-specific settings. Clients who need a more intensive level of support may opt for the center’s enhanced outpatient program, which offers multiple sessions each week. Outpatient treatment may be administered in person or online via the center’s eServices program.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the facility’s website, Operation PAR employs over 400 individuals. There is currently no additional information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

S.E., the one alum polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this review, told Best-rehabs.com that she would not recommend the facility to others. While she gave the program’s treatment effectiveness four out of five stars and expressed appreciation for being able to access treatment with children in tow, she awarded only two stars to the staff’s level of training and experience, the program’s holistic offerings, and the center’s counseling options. “There aren’t enough after care resources,” she added.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

When asked how likely they were to recommend the facility to others, the two loved ones polled by Best-rehabs.com both provided ratings of four out of five stars. “It was a good experience,” one respondent told Best-rehabs.com. They also both submitted five-star ratings for the program’s treatment effectiveness and four-star ratings for the center’s counseling options and the staff’s level of training and experience. “The staff was knowledgable,” one loved one wrote.

The two respondents differed on their opinions of the program’s holistic offerings, as one loved one provided a one-star review and the other submitted four stars. And while one loved one characterized the facility as “affordable,” the other listed cost as a weakness of the facility.

The three reviewers on Google, one of whom identified themselves as a parent, were less impressed with the facility. While Shayla gave the facility three out of five stars, both Kristin and Guido awarded the program one-star reviews. While Guido complained about the staff and wait times, Kristin described the staff as “unprofessional.”[1]

FINANCING

There is currently no information provided on the facility’s website regarding its costs. However, both CiteHealth and HealthGrove indicate that Operation PAR accepts private insurance and Medicaid. These third-party sites also state that fees are based on a sliding fee scale.

Operation PAR, Inc. Reviews

Constant classes makes you develop a routine, which was a strength. Need to go into positive self talk more and should be able to stay longer if detoxing from methadone especially since they have a clinic that provides it. It was really hard to get into detox here and was thrown on methadone which caused i totally different drug problem and when i first went in i was told i didn't have a problem then when i waited longer i was to bad and had to give on methadone. something was very wrong with that. I'm just happy i made it out alive and as to others i seen just thrown out on the street after receiving methadone for years i feel there could have been a better way of handling those situations like inpatient. It just seems kinda cold
treatment classes were a strength but need more space
