ABOUT HELPING HANDS COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES

Located in College Park, Ga. on the southern edge of Atlanta, Helping Hands Community-Based Services provides outpatient treatment to adults and families seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. This facility’s approach to recovery prioritizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and building on clients’ strengths.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment program at Helping Hands Community-Based Services uses a comprehensive wellness assessment to develop individualized treatment plans for clients. In addition to its wellness assessments, Helping Hands also offers several other evaluation services, including psychiatric diagnostics, drug screenings, and anger management assessments.

Helping Hands also offers case management services, and clients work with case managers to coordinate their care. Managers may coordinate therapy sessions, as well as medication management, crisis intervention needs, and periodic testing to name a few options.

Therapy options are available for clients as well as their family members. Counseling, which may be facilitated in individual and group settings, focuses on uncovering and addressing the underlying causes of addiction using proven methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Clients participating in the facility’s four-month intensive outpatient program (IOP) for addiction meet four hours a day, four days a week. The program follows the Matrix Model, which integrates individual and group counseling with education.

Clients also regularly undergo drug testing and are required to attend Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous meetings. An additional three to six months of aftercare is also offered.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Helping Hands’ staff includes psychiatrists, master’s-level therapists, social workers, and licensed addiction counselors. The facility is accredited by CARF.
