ABOUT THE JERICHO HOUSE

Located in the small community of Sautee, Ga., The Jericho House offers residential, faith-based treatment for adult men seeking treatment for substance abuse. Clients participate in faith-based rehabilitation methods in an immersive program that lasts up to one year. Detox services are not available on site, but can be arranged with a nearby partner. Clients must be three days sober at the time of their intake interview and sober at the time of admission.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at the Jericho House begins with an admissions call and preliminary screen with an admissions counselor. Clients must call and discuss their current situation with an admissions counselor to be eligible for the program. The program director will schedule an in-person interview during the week with those that qualify. A detailed medical, addiction, and social history are discussed in the interview. Clients must be three days sober for the initial call, and completely sober at the interview.

The Jericho House uses faith-based methods of treatment. The program combines Bible study, 12-step principles, and work therapy to facilitate treatment. Detox services are not available through the program, but Jericho House can help make arrangements before entering the program.

Small groups counseling is also used in treatment. Clients may be placed in jobs including landscaping, painting, remodeling, and moving. The facility also has clients produce wood furnishings which are then sold on the facility’s website. Treatment does not include a medical component, although arrangements may be made for special cases. The clinical component to treatment is limited as well.

There is a family component to the treatment program that focuses on restoring damaged relationships. Families may participate in treatments on a selective basis. However, clients are encouraged to rebuild family connections whenever possible.

  • I am commenting to reveal the truth behind this facility. The founder of this program, and also probably L who posted below me, is a liar... He will manipulate you and your parents, everything he will tell you before entering the program will turn out to be false, and their website and brochure is full of non truths... I went through the program a couple years ago and hope you do your research before considering Jericho.

  • I both attended this program in 2012 and am now employed here. The change in the program since that time has been amazing and is continuing to grow leaps and bounds. The Jericho House cares for men's lives and the lives of their family members in a way that is unrivaled by other programs in the recovery community.
