Located in Marietta, Ga., the Nelson Price Treatment Center (also known as Nelson Price Drug Rehabilitation Center) offers long-term residential treatment for adolescents struggling with substance use disorders. The facility also provides high school and GED tutoring for clients. Formerly associated with Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, this rehab was named for a long-time Southern Baptist leader.

While information concerning the program is limited, a post on Nelson Price’s personal website suggests that the treatment center named for him offers a program lasting one year on average.
The single staff member polled by Best-rehabs.com to date was asked to rate the centrality of faith-based elements and the 12-step model to the facility’s programming, awarding five out of five stars for each.
During residential treatment, residents may participate in counseling sessions, attend 12-step meetings, as well as participate in coping skills workshops, educational classes, spiritual counseling sessions, and therapeutic recreation. As stated, residents also receive high school instruction and/or GED preparation and testing.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
According to the Nelson Price website, this rehabilitation center can accommodate between 29 and 42 residents, including boys and girls. Outside employment is allowed for some, and early plans included achieving accreditation as a special purpose school with ability to participate in competitive sports. There is a basketball court on-site.

WHAT STAFF SAY
The sole staff member surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the Nelson Price Treatment Center a mixed review, indicating that while treatment was solid, options in counseling approaches and amenities were lacking. They described the program as “excellent” and awarded the facility five stars for treatment effectiveness, as well as four for its ability to treat co-occurring mental illness. On the other hand, holistic offerings, family participation, and the facility’s cleanliness and upkeep received just one star apiece. Exercise and leisure activities received three.
