ABOUT NEW HORIZONS TREATMENT CENTER

Located in Rome, Ga., 70 miles northwest of Atlanta in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, New Horizons Treatment Center offers outpatient medication-assisted treatment for individuals struggling with addiction to opioids. Methadone detox is available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the New Horizons Treatment Center’s website, treatment begins with an individual assessment. Assessments consist of a screening and a comprehensive interview with a professional counselor, which is used to determine the client’s medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, and psychosocial status and history. Also, clients undergo a physical exam before beginning treatment. Those found unsuitable for treatment at New Horizons are referred to other treatment facilities.

This facility offers methadone and Suboxone maintenance programs, accompanied by at least two hours a month of both individual and group counseling, to help address the root causes of addiction. Efforts are also made to help clients to lead healthy lives during and after treatment — life skills training is offered, as well as vocational and educational counseling, support services, and referrals. The facility’s website notes that aftercare is offered, but does not give specifics.

HIV testing and infectious disease prevention services are also available.

  • Cleanliness, Order, Friendly Staff, Good Treatments were good. They have high prices It's a nice, friendly place, but expensive, but not too expensive to the point where it's ridiculous. A lot of money goes into maintaining such rehab facilities, so of course their prices will be high, it's just difficult for low-income families to get their loved ones the help they need at an afforadble price for their wallet.

  • It was easy to get appointments and the counselors were very good. However, it was hard trying to stay on top of new regulations dealing with subs. You must work to find other counseling.
