ACCELERATED RECOVERY CENTERS

Located in a large red-brick building in the suburbs 15 miles northwest of Atlanta, Ga., Accelerated Recovery Centers (Accelerated, per the facility’s abbreviation) is a treatment center that provides services for adults struggling with alcoholism. Accelerated specializes in detox services, short-term residential treatment, outpatient care, and aftercare.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Accelerated Recovery Centers conducts a comprehensive 45-minute admission interview to assess clients who demonstrate a clear desire to enter treatment. The center focuses on clients who are intrinsically motivated and do not admit court-ordered clients or those who have been through interventions. The center also offers dedicated treatment for professionals.

Detox services at Accelerated are offered in various ways including medically managed detox services, private detox services held at specific times throughout the year, and a hospital detox program for clients who require intensive medical care. In extreme circumstances, emergency detox is available through the facility’s hospital partnerships.

After the initial assessment, admitted clients undergo a comprehensive medical history and physical exam. Any medical and cognitive needs are documented and used to develop the most effective method of treatment. Treatment at Accelerated varies in duration, with options for intensive one, two, or three-week programs.

Accelerated Recovery Centers uses an evidence-based alternative to the traditional 12-step treatment. The program focuses on three treatment areas: medical management, wellness management, and therapeutic management. Individual therapy is prioritized over group therapy, and family therapy is extensively utilized from the beginning of treatment. After graduating from the program, clients can take advantage of six months of aftercare services.

Accelerated Recovery Centers Reviews

  • Treatment Effectiveness
Individual therapeutic model (no groups). There is, in my opinion, a problem with accountability. Like all programs that address addiction the participant must desire to address the addiction and replace with healthy behavior. I don't think anyone has developed a model that accurately predicates readiness and willingness to change.
