ABOUT MOUNTAIN CENTER FOR RECOVERY AND HOPE
Burrowed in the beautiful mountains of Eastern Kentucky, Mountain Comprehensive Care Center’s Mountain Center for Recovery and Hope is a residential rehab facility for adult men and women struggling with addiction and mental health disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Approaching substance abuse as a treatable disease, Mountain Center for Recovery and Hope serves individuals ages 18 and up, who have been diagnosed as chemically dependent and have a co-occurring mental health condition. The evidenced based treatment curriculum combines individual and group counseling with participation in 12-step programs. Clients also may expect educational programming, such as self-esteem building, relapse prevention, parenting classes, and anger management as well as recovery-oriented social and recreational activities.
Treatment is gender-specific and both short- and long-term. For those nearing completion of the program, the facility provides aftercare planning, which includes case management services and referrals to outpatient counseling and other resources.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Mountain Center for Recovery and Hope is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). There currently are no details provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff; however, the five individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing, however, collectively gave an average rating of 3.6 out of five stars for the staff’s level of training and experience.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Residents at Mountain Center for Recovery and Hope stay on a neat, well-kept campus. Clients live in shared sleeping quarters. The main building includes a community room, meeting and conference spaces, commercial kitchen, and outdoor patio.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
At the time of this writing, the two alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com provided mixed feedback. An anonymous alum gave the facility a perfect five-star rating for treatment effectiveness, four stars for accommodations & amenities and for meals & nutrition. However, the alum was neutral when rating the staff’s level of training and experience, the counseling options, and the exercise and leisure options, giving these metrics three stars.
The other alum, while rating the facility’s cleanliness and meals and nutrition highly, was more negative in their review. The alum thought there were “not enough meetings” or group counseling. The alum did not think that facility was worth the cost, and gave low one-star ratings to the facility’s holistic offerings and exercise and leisure opportunities.
Both alumni agreed that affordability was a strength of the facility, offering a four- and a five-star rating for this metric.
On Google, Mountain Center for Recovery and Hope received an average of 3.7 stars out of five from three reviews at the time of this writing. [1] Two reviewers gave five-star ratings, while the third offered a mere one-star rating and wrote: “rude on the phone.”
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
At time of writing there have been three loved ones polled by Best-rehabs.com, all of whom gave the facility mixed reviews. One loved one did not rate treatment effectiveness, meals and nutrition, or accommodations and amenities, but gave every other metric three out of five stars, indicating lukewarm feelings towards the facility.
The other two loved ones were more informative but equally mixed in their responses. Both loved ones rated meals and nutrition the maximum five-star rating. One loved one, while thinking highly of the treatment program, lambasted the family participation and connectivity, giving the metrics a three- and one-star rating, respectively. They wrote, “To many rules and no phones to contact family.” The other loved one felt that the staff at the facility “do care, and try to help you,” but nonetheless rated the facilty’s counseling options a low two out of five stars.
