ABOUT LINCOLN TRAIL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM

Located in Radcliff, Ky., a small city dominated by the Fort Knox Army Base, Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System offers residential and outpatient treatment services for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. The facility accepts both adolescents and adults, offers medically monitored detox services on-site, and accepts clients with co-occurring disorders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System’s highly structured residential substance abuse program combines 12-step methodology with evidence-based practices. Treatment is tightly scheduled around regular group therapy and individual counseling.

The adult program follows the Living in Balance Model, which focuses on relapse prevention and provides opportunities for clients to utilize learned living skills in extensive group sessions. Clients attend on-site AA/NA meetings and work with their counselors to create an individualized Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to support sobriety upon discharge. Downtime is spent studying AA’s Big Book. Clients also participate in holistic models such as activity therapy and dietary counseling.

The adolescent residential program, known as Courage to Change, engages participants ages 13 to 17. This group has its own designated treatment team and utilizes The Seven Challenges motivational program to address co-occurring life skills deficits. Paired with Lincoln Trail’s psychiatric programs, the program also addresses psychological and emotional problems in young people. Led by teachers from Hardin County School System, individuals must attend school on-site. The facility also offers The Willows Program for teen girls dealing with sexual trauma.

In part due to being located close to a military base, this facility offers separate treatment for veterans, active duty military, reservists, and the National Guard. The Military Program is for such individuals who are also experiencing a substance abuse disorder along with co-occurring mental disorders typically related to combat and stress. Additional therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychotherapy, and mindfulness among many others.

Family therapy is a major component of both the adult and adolescent programs, and there are also intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) offering additional programming such as the Matrix Model and Seeking Safety.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The multidisciplinary treatment team includes addictionologists, psychiatrists, and certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADC), as well as case coordinators, social workers, nurses, and activity therapists.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System Reviews

WORST PLACE EVER...
I attended during a really depressive episode although most of the staff were kind, it genuinely felt like a prison. The night I got home I had a week of nightmares thinking I was still there.
this place is horrible. I would not recommend sending your child here if they are suicidal or fo drugs.
It was good but I feel that the staff didn't hold themselves accountable.
Love this place. Saved my life. Over a year clean.
