Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center

Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center Rayville Louisiana

Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center has been providing assistance to individuals recovering from addiction for over 20 years. Our team of dedicated professionals possesses a combined experience of more than 250 years in successfully breaking the cycle of this debilitating chronic disease. We firmly believe that recovery must encompass the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of an individual’s life. From the very beginning, our program is specifically designed to address all three of these essential areas. Our facilities and staff create an environment that promotes the development of essential living skills, the cultivation of non-addictive coping mechanisms, the identification and resolution of character defects, the fostering of a selfless way of life, and the adoption of a spiritual outlook.

ABOUT PALMETTO ADDICTION RECOVERY CENTER

Located on 70 picturesque rural acres in the northeastern part of Louisiana and surrounded by a serene lake, Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center offers residential and intensive outpatient treatment options for adult men and women combating substance abuse problems. Our facility also welcomes individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders and provides on-site medically monitored detoxification services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Our comprehensive assessments are conducted by our entire staff and encompass evaluations of a client’s behavior, sense of responsibility, and emotional and spiritual development. The majority of our clients require about 90 days to complete all phases of treatment. Following their residential stay, many clients transition into our intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Our treatment approach adheres to the 12-Step therapeutic community model. Clients are expected to collaborate in regular group sessions to solve problems in a drug-free environment, participate in individual counseling, engage in family therapy, attend daily 12-step meetings, and partake in addiction education classes. We also offer medication management services.

We have developed a specialized treatment track tailored to professionals, such as medical workers, attorneys, judges, social workers, and licensed professional counselors. This track explores topics such as work addiction, caregiving, caretaking, ethics, career adjustment issues, and self-image.

For loved ones, we have a family program that encompasses counseling, education, and a two-day family workshop. Additionally, we have a relapse track for individuals who struggle with maintaining their recovery. This track involves extensive work to identify and explore triggers.

Palmetto Addiction Recovery Center Reviews

Still have terrible memories since my stay for three months in 2018. Counselors laugh at someone who is hard of hearing in front of all the clients instead of helping them. Female Community picks and chooses which rules to follow. It changed daily. I have recovered and remain in recovery, due my family and friends not this place. It was like living in a cult.
We were asked group to read out loud or homework. The counselor named Joseph called me out on what was my truth he is horrible, rude and I don’t want my son around him any longer.
What a joke!! They show this cabin you will live in. There is 1 cabin that select people get to live in. The others get to live in crappy cabins with no heat or a/c and $40 a week to feed 5 grown men. And Dr Michael McCormick is the biggest sham of a DR if there ever was one. Only cares about the money.
Disregard the negative reviews as most were probably left by those who, voluntarily or involuntarily, left early. Whether you stay 30, 60 or 90 days, go with an open mind and help will find you. This is just a serious place for those serious about getting better. In closing, rehab was never intended to be a vacation and if the counselors are hard on you, it's for a good reason....trust the process.
It was a bad experience for me. I grew up poor so it wasn’t the bad living conditions. They demoralized and bully you in an attempt to break you down. When that doesn’t work...they use hypnosis....right in front of 10 other people in your group. It has a cultish feel to it. But when your insurance runs out, you have 24 hours to find a ride home no matter how far away it is...no matter what horrors theY released. The hypnosis thing that was done to me in front of 10 other group members was at the very least negligent. It maybe good for some people. BUT, IT WAS NOT FOR ME. The first meeting in the mornings is to pressure you to tell on other people for breaking the rules...like walking outside the smoke gazebo with a cigarette...very petty crap.....and they get punishments. It’s sick.
