ABOUT SEASIDE OUTPATIENT SERVICES — NORTH SHORE
Established in 2009, Seaside Healthcare LLC operates several locations throughout Louisiana that treat substance use disorder, psychiatric disorders, and dual diagnosis. The organization offers a continuum of care, ranging from acute hospitalization through several intensities of outpatient care.
This facility, located in the Mandeville neighborhood of Lewisburg, on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain, offers outpatient treatment.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Seaside’s continuum of care is built around “seven pillars”: assessment, plan development, crisis intervention planning, case management, rehabilitation, wellness and prevention, and finally, discharge planning and review.
This facility offers two intensities of treatment: a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The PHP involves group therapy for four to six hours, five to seven days per week. The IOP involves attending group therapy one to three days per week.
Though Seaside’s website does not provide extensive details about programming at the North Shore location in particular, another Seaside outpatient center in Metairie notes that at that treatment begins with a comprehensive, biopsychosocial substance abuse assessment, outpatient detox and psychological screening are available where appropriate. Seaside uses mindfulness training and 12-step work, relapse prevention strategies, community engagement, a support system, and help with nutrition, recreation, and exercise.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Another Seaside facility, Metairie, indicates on the facility’s website that the treatment team includes a psychiatrist, medical case managers, licensed addiction counselors, and other licensed mental health professionals. Prospective clients at the North Shore facility might expect a similar roster of credentials.
REVIEWS
On the facility’s Facebook page, there is an overall rating of four out of five stars based on one review.[1] Alum D.D. gave four stars but did not provide additional commentary.
At the time of this writing there has been one staff member polled by Best-rehabs.com. The staff member gave the facility a positive review. The anonymous staff member gave the facility four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, three stars for accommodations & amenities, and three stars for meals & nutrition. The staff member agreed that the facility was adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems in addition to substance use disorders; that the facility’s cell phone and visitation policy was fair; and that family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through facility programming.
The staff member strongly agreed that there were many counseling options to choose from depending on the client’s preference; that the treatment and services offered at the facility were worth the cost; and that the staff member would recommend this facility to a friend or loved one who was considering rehab. The staff member felt that a strength of the facility was it’s good clinicians but that upper management was unorganized.The staff member also added, “overall it was a great place to work. Therapists and staff were there for the clients and really go the extra mile.”
