The Waterville, Maine facility provides specialized services for adult men and women, including medication-assisted therapy. Unfortunately, detoxification services are not available on-site. Upon admission, clients are required to complete necessary paperwork and undergo an evaluation conducted by trained medical personnel.
The treatment approach at Discovery House revolves around the disease model of addiction, and includes a combination of medication management, therapy activities, and educational courses. The facility offers various medications for treatment, such as Methadone, Buprenorphine, Suboxone, and Vivitrol. Additionally, periodic drug screenings are conducted to support sobriety during the treatment period.

The facility also provides counseling services specialized in fields like HIV, nutrition, and drug free counseling. WHAT ALUMNI SAY
In a review from a former client, Michelle expressed mixed feelings about the treatment she received at the Waterville facility. She reported that she was able to start the program promptly but ultimately felt that her time there was not valuable. She gave the clinic three out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, exercise and leisure opportunities, staff experience, family participation, and holistic offerings. However, she rated affordability with only one out of five stars. Despite her reservations, she would still recommend the program to others.

Alumni praised the facility’s staff members, describing them as “nice,” “helpful,” “friendly,” and “courteous.” For example, Stephanie stated that she believes the staff members are incredible and that they treat every client with respect.

One participant commented that while the clinic focused too much on making money, it was still one of the better options in the area. The other staff member mentioned that although the location was convenient, the facility did not offer an extensive range of treatment options.
