ABOUT SUMMIT POINTE

Summit Pointe, located in Battle Creek, Mich., offers outpatient-based treatment for adults and adolescent struggling with substance abuse and mental health concerns. The facility also offers specialized programming for individuals involved in the court system, making it among the 151 facilities in Michigan that offer criminal justice recovery services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission to the substance abuse treatment program, adults and adolescents all receive an assessment to determine the extent of their substance use. Following assessment, an individualized treatment plan is created for each client. To effectively facilitate treatments, each client works with a case manager. The case manager coordinates treatment methods and advocates for clients.

To treat its clientele, the facility’s treatment program follows a range evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Treatment models may also include Seeking Safety, The Matrix Model (used in 42% of U.S. facilities), Living in Balance, and more.

Throughout treatment, clients receive individual, group, and family therapy along with case management and recovery coaching. Summit Pointe also offers opioid-specific programs, and participants may receive addiction medication to assist them in recovery as appropriate. Families are included included in the treatment program through therapy sessions.

The facility also offers jail-based programming and in-home programs for youth offenders. The facility closely collaborates with the court system, probation/parole, human services agencies, and community physicians.
