ABOUT ST. VINCENT’S SERVICES, INC.
Operating three clinics in N.Y.C., with locations in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens, St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. provides outpatient-based treatment services for individuals struggling with mental illness and/or behavioral health concerns. The clinics offer outpatient-based psychiatric services for adults, youth, and families, as well as specialized programs to treat chemical dependency. The facilities also provide a program for DUI offenders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Upon admission into the program, clients undergo a substance abuse assessment and/or psychiatric evaluation to identify specific behavioral health issues or diagnose a psychiatric disorder, depending on the needs of the client. If a client is struggling with a primary substance abuse disorder, they will be referred to the the facility’s Chemical Dependence Treatment Program.
St. Vincent’s Services, Inc.’s Chemical Dependence Treatment Program utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches to treat its clientele. During its outpatient program, clients participate in both individual and group counseling sessions to identify and modify the irrational thinking patterns that may contribute to addictive behavior. The facility is also equipped to treat individuals struggling with a co-occurring mental health concern.
In addition to counseling, according to its website, St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. helps clients “to develop a healthy community support network,” which suggests individuals may be introduced to self-help fellowships, such as 12-Step. Clients may be required to attend meetings, study fellowship literature, and perform associated “step-work” during the outpatient program. Clients may also attend workshops on improving coping skills, relapse prevention techniques, and trigger avoidance.
Along with its chemical dependency program, St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. also offers a specialized, educational program for DUI offenders. The program track’s assessment and curriculum may be designed to satisfy court requirements for license reinstatement. The facility maintains evening and weekend hours to accommodate clients schedules.
The outpatient facility also offers a range of psychiatric services, including counseling services, psychiatric evaluations, and art therapy sessions. Ongoing medication management is also available to clients with a dual diagnosis or primary psychiatric disorder. Along with helping to treat a range of mental disorders, St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. also specializes in treating victims of domestic violence and individuals affected by trauma.

St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. employs a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, nurse practitioners and art therapists.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The two alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing generally approved of the facility, specifically praising the attentiveness and aptitude of staff. Out of five stars, the two alum both offered perfect five-star ratings for the facility’s discharge planning and its ability to treat co-occurring disorders. The alumni also offered four- and five-star ratings for the treatment staff’s level of experience and training.
“You can truly trust and have the confidence that you will be respected and your needs will be met,” one anonymous alum wrote. Offering a four-star rating for the facility’s counseling options, the other alum added: “I never lacked of any of my treatments, and my counselor was always there for me.”
WHAT STAFF SAY
While Best-rehabs.com has yet to receive employee feedback to date, secondary sources revealed mixed opinions among staff. On Indeed, nine reviewers gave the facility an average rating of 3.4 out of five stars. While many employees approved of the facility, others cited support from management as an issue. “Flexible, reliable, and caring place,” one representative reviewer wrote. However, another employee wrote: “Very hectic, no support from supervisor or management.”
FINANCING
St. Vincent’s Services, Inc. accepts most private insurance plans, as well as Medicaid. In addition, the facility offers Metrocards to assist Medicaid recipients with transportation.
