ABOUT COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTHCARE

Community Mental Healthcare (CMH) operates three facilities in Dover, New Philadelphia, and Carrollton, providing mental health, substance use disorder, and crisis services in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties, Ohio. The Dover facility is conveniently located next to Union Hospital in southeast Dover. Crisis services are available round-the-clock, while all other services are provided on an outpatient basis, at various levels of intensity.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

CMH takes a person-centered approach to treatment, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach and the best practices in each discipline.

For individuals struggling with substance use disorder, CMH offers substance use assessments, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient individual and group counseling. Additionally, the facility provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using Suboxone for individuals dependent on opiates.

The IOP is an eight-week program that primarily consists of group therapy sessions, which focus on coping skills, developing a new, sober definition of life, and building a supportive sober network. The group meets three weekday evenings each week, for three-hour sessions, and clients are also required to participate in individual therapy.

CMH also provides psychiatric services, psychological testing, case management, and various therapeutic courses for individuals struggling with mental health disorders.
