ABOUT BESTCARE – REDMOND RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT
BestCare Treatment Services operates several addiction treatment facilities throughout Central Oregon, but its main residential treatment center and administrative offices are based in Redmond. BestCare treats individuals ages 18 and up that are suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders through many services including medically managed detox, residential, outpatient, and intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment. While it is not clear if this facility provides these services, specialized programming is available for those with co-occurring disorders, gambling addictions, and chronic pain. BestCare also offers Spanish language services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients are assessed to determine the level of care that they need. Detox services are provided to help stabilize clients before transferring them to another program. Medically managed detox services are overseen by the medical director as well as certified nurses. Once detox is complete, clients can be re-assessed by their caregivers to determine which program is best for them.
Residential treatment focuses on the person as a whole. Treatment involves a range of different therapies combined with medical, educational, and sober living support. Sessions happen within the context of a highly structured schedule that includes individual, group, and family therapy as well as 12-step work. Physical activity is encouraged to promote physical recovery including fitness and yoga classes. Educational sessions like art therapy and nutrition classes are also provided to help clients learn about healthy living options. Those experiencing chronic pain utilize anti-inflammation dieting, mindfulness training, acupuncture, and massage. However, medical intervention may be available for severe pain based on each client’s condition.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
According to the center’s website, detox is managed by a medical director and nursing staff, and treatment is administered by a full medical staff and specialized counselors.

WHAT STAFF SAY
Although Best-rehabs.com has not received reviews from staff members, reviews on third party websites may provide some insight into the facility’s perceived shortcomings.
On Glassdoor, the facility earned four out of five stars from two reviews. [2] An anonymous former employee gave their overall experience four out of five stars, noting “team dynamics” as one of BestCare’s strengths, but they added: “As a non-profit, the workforce is subject to economic pressures outside of employee control, so at times work is not stable. Due to the nature of the organization and its belief in interpersonal growth, employees who are not quite up to doing the work are given more opportunity to change than I would personally allow.”
FINANCING
According to BestCare’s website, the cost of treatment varies from client to client based on each client’s individual care plan. The facility accepts most major insurance plans and Oregon Health Plan. However, not all of the needed services may be covered based on each plan and client. Co-payments can be made in cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover payments. Financial assistance is also available for those that do not have insurance or have trouble meeting co-payments.
