ABOUT PACIFIC RIDGE

Pacific Ridge, located in Salem, Ore., is one of the state’s 43 (19.3 percent) facilities that offers residential treatment to adults struggling with chemical dependency. Set on an 18-acre campus in a country setting about an hour outside of Portland, the facility is privately owned and operated. The facility also offers on-site detox services – placing it amongst the just 10.8 percent of facilities in the state with this option – including Suboxone treatment for opiate addiction.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Though a waiting period may be applied, Pacific Ridge’s website indicates that most clients are admitted within one or two days. The treatment philosophy at Pacific Ridge views chemical dependency as a treatable illness and emphasizes family involvement as integral to recovery. Treatment, including length of stay, is individualized to each client.

During the residential program, a typical daily schedule includes physical fitness activities, two group counseling sessions, education on addiction, nutrition, and relapse prevention, meals, and breaks for quiet time. Clients also regularly participate in individual and family counseling sessions. In addition, clients are introduced to the principles and practices of 12-Step.

Residents may also participate in services to help them quit smoking – both nicotine and cannabis products. However, of note, the facility does allow smoking on the premises and even designates times throughout the day when residents may smoke.

Once a client completes treatment, the facility may offer referrals for outpatient care, including referrals to buprenorphine-certified physicians to continue a Suboxone or Subutex regimen.

  • Worked well. Haven't relapsed in over 15 years. Spa and nutrition and addiction therapies.
Great program. I am so proud of my son. He did amazing. He was responsible, supportive of others, respectful and everyone there loved him. I an so happy that he changed his life around. I will say that the current chaplain needs to get off her power trip, quit trying to intimidate people and should not be part of the staff at Pacific Ridge. I will be contacting the owner. There are witnesses as to how my son was handled his laat day there.

  • Strengths: Education, family involvement, nutrition and exercise. The family focus assisted me to see the connection to family and also take ownership of my part. Weaknesses: distance from home. But that could be a strength too. I had a very positive experience and I am still clean and sober. I reflect on my experience and the things I learned often. I am still friends with some of the people I went through treatment with. I would recommend Pacific Ridge to anyone.

  • Located in nature, lots of open air It is a little too rustic. The counselors are friendly and very helpful, and you can really get away from it. All over there.

  • Great therapists willing to work with family. Family visiting is restricted. I would have like to have more therapy that included family so as to know what to do with them once they have been home a while.

  • Already referred people to this rehab, but the counselors I had are not there anymore. And the ones they have now are not as effective.

  • I was ready for the treatment and the staff was really supportive. Honesty is the key to a successful treatment. Being in treatment takes commitment of the individual. If you are serious of wanting the help, it's important to ask for it and be honest with the aspects of the program. They are there to help, but if you are not serious about wanting to stop the addiction. The program will not work.
