ABOUT LETTY OWINGS CENTER
Since opening in 1989, the Letty Owings Center has helped more than 1,300 families and provided support for more than 230 babies to be born drug-free, according to its website. Located in Portland,Ore. and operated by Central City Concerns, Letty Owings is a private nonprofit facility, which make up about 55 percent of all treatment centers in Oregon; it isthat provides long-term, residential treatment. It serves mothers and pregnant women who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. The center coordinates with other Central City Concern (CCC) programs to secure health care, employment, and long-term housing services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to Letty Owings Center’s website, when clients entere treatment, they work with a clinical team to develop an individualized plan to address physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. Medical referrals and mental health assessments are available through the center’s network.

The Letty Owings Center is licensed for 56 beds. Each resident stays in a room with her children and a program video shows warm and individualized spaces. Residents make the rooms their own through decorating and arranging.

Group meeting rooms are simple yet comfortably furnished. “I think the treatment is pretty effective,” the staffer wrote. “The program is for women and children, reuniting moms with their children who are in foster care or unborn. A lot of parenting skills are emphasized and a lot of families are reunited.”
