ABOUT MILESTONES FAMILY RECOVERY

Milestone Family Recovery combines evidence-based residential and outpatient treatment programs for adolescents, women, and children dealing with substance abuse. Those needing acute detoxification will be referred to a nearby hospital.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Those in the Women’s Residential Program will participate in stress reduction techniques, nutrition counseling, and evidence-based therapies including 12-Step programming and group counseling. The center, though strictly structured, allows women to bring one child under the age of six to stay during treatment. Graduates have access to transitional housing and outpatient groups for a year.

For adolescents, the YES House (Youths Entering Sobriety) provides structured residential treatment. Teens learn essential recovery and life training skills and participate in family and group counseling, gender-specific groups, and self-help groups.

Outpatient treatment for teens includes daily treatment schedules, Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP), and normal outpatient treatment. Treatment incorporates family-based therapies and lasts as long as needed.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Masters-level counselors, a physician, and a psychiatrist are employed by Milestones. Educators and program directors run individual programs.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The women’s residence, set in a residential neighborhood, has a 12-bed capacity, meeting rooms, common areas, and a yard.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The two former clients surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at this time of writing gave negative responses.

“The week I was there I walked around the place not seeing any groups taking place not meeting with a counselor not once and they basically all walked around and by me like I wasn't even there,” wrote H.T. They added: “No one explained what their schedule or classes were and how they should be geared toward effectively helping u graduate. It was a depressing, hope devouring experience that I never want to go thru again.”

The other alum, D.M., added “Providers are concerned with meeting quotas I stayed 6 months longer than.”

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The sole loved one responding to a Best-rehabs.com poll to date gave four-star ratings on 10 of the 15 evaluated aspects of the facility. While the anonymous reviewer gave high marks to the staff’s level of training, level of family participation, and treatment effectiveness, they commented: “not enough supervision.”

WHAT STAFF SAY

While no former or current staff members have responded to a Best-rehabs.com poll, but reviews on Glassdoor reveal negative opinions. Both respondents on the site complained of management problems. One former staff member wrote: “There are some really great people that work there, unfortunately they tend to not stick around.” Another commented: “Working with youth with their chemical dependency is very rewarding.”[1]

I already felt alone and afraid and lost when I got there and they hurried me thru an intake I didn't understand because I had never been in any kind of treatment before and it was almost impossible to ask a question and get an answer because there was no structure. The week I was there I walked around the place not seeing any groups taking place not meeting with a counselor not once and they basically all walked around and by me like I wasn't even there. No one explained what their schedule or classes were and how they should be geared toward effectively helping u graduate. It was a depressing, hope devouring experience that I never want to go thru again.
