ABOUT RESTORATION COUNSELING SERVICES
Located in the community of Athens, Tenn., 58 miles northeast of Chattanooga, Restoration Counseling Services provides a range of outpatient-based counseling services for adults, adolescents, and children. While the faith-based facility offers counseling to address a range of concerns, Restoration Counseling Services does offer programming specifically for individuals struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health difficulties, including intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents, as well as aftercare planning.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Before beginning counseling, clients undergo an initial assessment that addresses their concerns, such as a substance abuse history assessment and/or psychiatric evaluation. Through the initial assessment, clinicians can coordinate with the client to create an appropriate curriculum, which may include topic-relevant group counseling sessions or admission into its intensive outpatient program.
Restoration Counseling Services provides a range of counseling settings, including one-on-one therapy, group counseling, specialized couples counseling (premarital, marriage), and family counseling sessions. The goal of counseling sessions is to address any underlying thought patterns that may contribute to addictive behavior and/or destructive behavior.
In addition, the facility holds skills training workshops to help clients improve coping skills, regulate emotions, and enhance basic living skills. The facility may also recommend clients attend Celebrate Recovery meetings, a Biblical-based 12-step fellowship. Each service of the facility may be incorporated into its IOP.
If applicable, clients may also meet with a consulting psychiatrist to receive ongoing medication management and monitoring. Along with counseling sessions that address issues relevant to substance abuse and mental health concerns, Restoration Counseling Services also treats individuals struggling with anger management and victims of domestic violence.
Once a client completes a recommended program curriculum, Restoration Counseling Services coordinates with clients to form a comprehensive aftercare plan. Clinicians may provide referrals to supportive housing, vocational training opportunities, and other community-based support resources. If applicable, the facility also provides on-site drug testing to ensure accountability.
