TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility’s website, to determine if an outpatient level of care is appropriate, clients participate in an initial substance abuse assessment. Founded in 12-step philosophies and practices, the abstinence-based program immerses clients into the 12-step process by introducing literature and guiding clients through “step work.”

Along with its 12-step foundation, the program also incorporates a weekly schedule of group counseling sessions and educational presentations.

Reflecting the outpatient level of care, educational presentations focus primarily on relapse prevention and coping with environmental stressors. Program are specialized with age-relevant topics and issues to better serve clients (adults vs. adolescents). Family involvement also plays an important role in the facility’s programming, and loved ones are invited to enroll in the family program, which offers addiction education and ongoing support for loved ones.

Once a client successfully completes the intensive outpatient program, they may choose to enroll in the Chattanooga location’s continuing care services. Available to both adults and adolescents, these services include references to 12-step involvement, ongoing monitoring, and referrals to Bradford Health Services’ alumni association).
