ABOUT HAVEN COUNSELING
Founded in 2001 and located in a business park beside Dallas Parkway, 15 miles north of Dallas city center, Haven Counseling is an outpatient counseling office that provides support for a range of mental, emotional, and behavioral health disorders, including chemical dependency. The center specializes in treating sex addiction along with other conditions that commonly affect the families of sex-addicted individuals, such as co-addiction, codependency, and enmeshment.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Haven Counseling is founded on the belief that, given an environment free of judgment and shame, as well as sensitive support and plenty of empathy, individuals can overcome their difficulties. Its counselors position themselves as “instructors, guides, mentors, and advocates,” helping clients to find their own way to recovery from whatever ails them.
The center offers support in individual, group, couples’, and family settings. Haven’s counselors are trained in a variety of evidence-based methodologies, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and brainspotting.
In addition to sex addiction and problematic substance use, the center can treat gambling, porn addiction, PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and grief, and offer support for blended families.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The team comprises master’s level counselors, one of whom is also a certified sex addiction therapist, and some of whom are members of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
