ABOUT CENIKOR FOUNDATION

With over 50 years of operation, the nonprofit Cenikor Foundation offers prevention and treatment services for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our Fort Worth, Texas facility, one of many centers operated by Cenikor, focuses exclusively on treating adults through long-term inpatient and outpatient care. Other Texas-based Cenikor locations offer additional services such as detoxification, short-term inpatient care, sober living, and treatment for adolescents.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the Cenikor Foundation website, our long-term inpatient program is designed for mentally and physically capable individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse. This program incorporates components addressing education and workforce development, in addition to substance abuse treatment. Our comprehensive treatment model combines peer influence and individual counseling to help participants improve social skills, develop healthy relationships, achieve financial stability, and secure steady housing. Graduation from the program requires the development of an aftercare plan and the accumulation of financial savings.

Our outpatient care is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, with treatment plans often including individual, group, and family counseling. Our goal-oriented programming covers a range of topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression.

Cenikor Foundation Reviews

Cenikor Corpus Christi TX-HORRIBLE communication with these people & that's only IF anyone answers the phone! Supposed counselor, (from the intensive residential program), MS SOLEIL sent my son packing in late June Texas heat, 6 hours from home WITHOUT food, water, money, transportation, his SUBOXONE or even a bus token! (I spoke with her so she was 100% aware of his circumstances) She DID NOT provide the counseling required during the time he was there. She is VERY condescending, unprofessional and rude. This woman has caused more harm than good to my son in his time of need and I will stop at nothing until she is exposed to the proper authorities!!! I wish more people would report these types of abuse because I know my son is not the only victim! He ran into TEN residents at the greyhound station that had been kicked out that same day for various reasons. A quick google search will reveal Cenikors illegal practices, lack of responsibility and FRAUD! I wish I had done my research sooner. I have reported this facility to Texas Health and Human services office of Inspector General & I'm only getting started because this type of behavior and lack of compassion IS NOT what the government block grants are paying for! Don't let "non profit" fool you! Do your research. They (many Cenikor facilities) are getting over paid and being ordered to return money for services they did not provide.
After studying the website, reading filtered 5 star reviews and watching great promotional videos I thought Cenikor might be perfect for my son. He was well liked, had a positive influence on others (despite availability of drugs) and was considered for internal responsibilities after a short time. However, and now a month later, I have to revise my impression. He was placed into a work program with XXXMetals which turned out to have an impact on his previously injured knee due to repeat heavy use of that leg and knee. He went to the hospital and was given a knee brace to avoid additional injury or false moves. Physical therapy was recommended. He was able to perform all sorts of other activities without a problem. However, it now appears as if Cenikor has to fulfill a "labor quota"" with XXXMetals because within 12 hours it was decided that my son had to vacate the premises. No attempt was made to place him in a different job or function. During a brief phone conversation with Cenikor staff
