ABOUT PROJECT HOPE RECOVERY CENTER

Located in Houston, Texas, Project Hope Recovery Center offers a long-term Christian residential program for people struggling with addiction. The center puts a heavy emphasis on living a Christian lifestyle, and treatment typically lasts 14 months.

Project Hope offers treatment for multiple addictions such as substance abuse, overeating, stress, sex, and anger.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility’s website, to be admitted into the program, clients must pay a $500 induction fee, have a sincere desire to change, be open to instruction, and be able to make a year commitment to complete the program.

Project Hope Treatment Center does not accept residents who are taking psychotropic medications. The center’s website notes Project Hope Recovery Center is a Christian residential program, not a medical, psychiatric, or psychological program. Therefore, it does not offer detox. The facility is based on the Teen Challenge model.

During a typical day of treatment, residents get up early and have little free time. At Project Hope Treatment Center, the mornings are devoted to Bible reading, prayer, chores, and mentoring. In the afternoon, residents have vocational training and work. While the evenings there are recreation activities, mentoring sessions, Bible study, and fellowship.

The average length of treatment is 14 months. However, it could run between 12 and 18 months.

In Project Hope Recovery Center’s work-study program, residents do tasks such as administrative work, kitchen clean-up, laundry, janitorial duties, maintenance projects, and wood working. The program is designed to help residents learn responsibility, life skills, and the importance of serving others.

After residents are in the program for 14 days, they are allowed one family visit a month on Sundays, and are allowed to make phone calls. Students are typically allowed two phone calls a week for 10 minutes each.

STAFF CREDENTIALS
The center’s website notes the treatment team includes interns and staff who have graduated from Teen Challenge or the residential program and work as mentors.

Project Hope Recovery Center Reviews

The program is horrible it’s basically just labor to peddle their pathetic trinkets the house held 25 men with only 3 bedrooms we were stuffed in there like sardines one guy in charge would take my picture while I slept there was no water pressure and the meals were horrible this place is miserable go if you want but you would be better off elsewhere
I was homeless, hurt and lost, was out of my mind when I found out about Project Hope I knew nothing about Recovery Centers I decided to give it a shot and when I first came in the main thing that stuck out was that everyone that was my leader was just like me. The only difference was they had more clean time do instantly I was comfortable...yes it was a lot of church BUT the Jesus they were feeding me daily rocked my world and I was never the same again. Since graduating God restored my relationship with my wife and kids I’ve been clean and sober and living a productive life. Thank God for places like Project Hope.
Project Hope/Saving Grace is an amazing program. I have been to many secular rehabs and halfway houses and have never gained the kind of knowledge/recovery/lasting friendships/relationship with God as I did while in Project Hope. I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction. The fact that it's a year long can easily turn people away but in all reality ONE year is nothing compared to the years of being in addiction or all the years you could be in recovery after completing this program.
My husband went through this program. I went to high school with my husband before we were married, so I know his lifestyle before he decided to get help with Project Hope. My husband isn’t just different, but he completely changed and has never gone back to drugs. I believe that, yes, God is the one who set him free, but I do believe that God used Project Hope as a tool to do so. As I have seen this program in action, I’ve noticed a few things. Although the program is designed to be hard, as it should be, I am amazed with the dedication and heart behind the leadership and staff. Determined-loyal- hard working. Most importantly, this program wants to see Jesus move in the lives of the students and through the entire program. It is evident that this program cares about getting the word out that there IS HOPE.
This program has changed my life. I have been delivered from an ID methamphetamine addiction. I came here with the shirt on my back hardly and was welcomed with open arms. I have people in my life that love me, and I love what I do for the ministry. I am currently interning for them now, and I have over a year sober. I recommend this program to anyone who is serious about committing to change
