ABOUT SOLUTIONS OUTPATIENT SERVICES

Providing family-centered recovery to the Dallas area since 1995, Solutions Outpatient Services prides itself in offering “the inpatient treatment process on an outpatient basis and at a much lower cost.” Conveniently located off the Dallas North Tollway, only a few miles from downtown, the outpatient center runs separate treatment tracks for individuals affected by drug and alcohol abuse and those transitioning back to their community following residential treatment as well as an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for eating disorders.

Two-hour assessments, hour-long consultations, and crisis interventions can also all be made by appointment.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Programming at Solutions Outpatient Services is guided by the belief that addiction is a disease, and can therefore be treated. All programs work in a structured, phase-like model – helping participants and their families advance towards recovery at a steady, gradual pace – and use 12-step process meetings alongside groups on relapse prevention, anger and stress management, and grief resolution.

In Phase I one of Solutions’ outpatient program for drug and alcohol abuse, a period typically completed in 10 to 12 weeks, men and women attend four nights or therapy. On two of these nights, they’ll be joined by family. In Phase II, two to four weeks in length, outpatients meet only two nights a week, each of which encourages family participation. The third and final aftercare phase lasts a year and involves monthly process groups for clients and families alike.

Structured similarly around three distinct phases, Soul Food is Solutions’ IOP for the medically stable adult who is struggling with eating disorders. Some may be facing Anorexia or Bulimia, while others may be compulsive or binge eaters. Either way, along with the 12-step model, they’ll benefit from evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as issue-specific groups covering nutrition, body image, meditation, spirituality, and more. A three-day intensive provides loved ones with opportunity for engagement.

Finally, Solutions runs a dedicated track for those in need of assistance with the transition back to life following inpatient treatment. The eight-week Transitional program begins with four nights of therapy a week and tapers down to two nights a week. Program graduates receive free aftercare for an entire year.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Clinical staff at Solutions include licensed chemical dependency counselors (LCDCs), licensed clinical social workers (LCDCs), and licensed professional counselors (LPCs). The center also consults with a board-certified addiction psychiatrist.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

An anonymous spouse, the sole respondent of a Best-rehabs.com survey to date, was rather critical of the program her husband attended. She felt that the cost of treatment was “ridiculous” and gave Solutions only one star when asked if she’d recommend treatment to others. On a more positive note, she did award the center four stars on several other metrics evaluated, including the ones measuring family inclusion, cleanliness, and administrative/discharge processes.

FINANCING

Solutions aims to “provide the inpatient process on an outpatient basis and at a much lower cost” and works with “most insurance companies on an out-of-network basis.”
