We believe addiction is an issue of the heart. When an individual is living in alignment with their calling, understands their purpose, and comprehends God’s vision for their life, the inclination to use substances diminishes. Addiction, in our view, originates as an attempt to alleviate a deep emotional wound, often rooted in pain, shame, or fear. Frequently, these wounds have been suppressed for so long that the addict struggles to recognize their impact on their life.
We assert that in order to achieve true freedom from addiction, it is essential to address these underlying wounds and issues of the heart. Spiritually, we introduce individuals to a God who loves them unconditionally. Mentally, our licensed therapists assist them in untangling the complexities of their lives and offer new solutions to their struggles. Physically, our Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors address the practical aspects of addiction, educating clients about the physical effects of drugs and alcohol. They also provide guidance on identifying triggers and managing cravings. Ultimately, we believe that true freedom is found in Christ. At Stonegate, through willing and equipped men, God restores sanity to those who are broken.
ABOUT STONEGATE CENTER
Situated on 35 acres in the small town of Azle, Texas, Stonegate Center is a long-term residential treatment facility for men that operates on a faith-based approach. We offer holistic and evidence-based therapy with a Christian focus to clients dealing with substance abuse and its consequences. While we do provide dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders, we do not offer on-site detoxification services. Stonegate Center began serving clients in 2010.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
At Stonegate Center, we maintain a nonjudgmental approach to recovery and cultivate a peaceful environment. Our treatment program is highly structured and consists of three 30-day phases. Our approach is centered on Christ and aims to facilitate spiritual growth, along with physical and mental healing.
The intake process involves a physical examination and lab work. Clients in need of medical support for detoxification are referred to a local hospital prior to admission to Stonegate. Over the course of the first month in treatment, clients engage in the initial steps of a 12-step process and receive support from a peer mentor. They also participate in individual and group sessions that incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy.
During the second stage of treatment, clients progress in their step-work and are granted increased flexibility for off-site travel. Therapy sessions focus on addressing underlying emotions such as anger, loneliness, and shame. The third month prioritizes preparation for aftercare, contributing to the community, and developing life skills. Educational sessions center on communication, conflict resolution, and practical skills like cooking, time management, and budgeting.
Stonegate Center additionally provides services to assist clients with legal challenges and offers marriage and family therapy.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
Best-rehabs.com has received survey responses from four former clients. Each of these individuals would recommend the program and rated the effectiveness of treatment with five out of five stars. In fact, nearly every aspect of our facility received a five-star rating from the alumni, including meals and nutrition, exercise and leisure activities, cleanliness and upkeep, and the level of staff training and experience. The only areas that received slightly lower ratings were the policies regarding phone and internet use, as well as the availability of counseling approaches that aligned with the clients’ preferences.
The written comments pertaining to the Christian nature of our treatment were all positive. One alumni acknowledged that a lack of psychiatric care was a weakness, but still regarded the program as “great.” Another alumni noted positive improvements in their relationships following treatment and expressed gratitude towards the staff for helping them address the root causes of their issues.
All five reviews published on Google awarded Stonegate Center a perfect five-star rating. Reviewers, including loved ones of alumni and members of the community, praised the staff’s dedication, the tranquil setting, and the life-changing impact of our program. Two reviewers described Stonegate Center as “first class.”

FINANCING
