TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Typically, client evaluations at Abstemious Outpatient Clinic take about 90 minutes. Results are used to create individualized treatment plans within independent and court-ordered programs. Therapeutic modalities blend group and individual counseling sessions with educational classes.
The main program presented on the Abstemious website is a two-year deferral program, also known as Alcohol/Drug Information School, available to eligible clients facing DUI sentencing. Beginning with one month of intensive outpatient program, clients go on to attend 72 hours in three months, then sessions once a week for six months, and once a month for the remainder of their plan.
Sessions at Abstemious Clinic are offered mornings and evenings. During treatment, clients are encouraged to participate in a 12-step process and community meetings.
Abstemious Outpatient Clinic’s treatment and educational programs are facilitated by a team of licensed or accredited substance abuse counselors, some with master’s degrees. The facility’s website touts the many years of experience of its staff. Medical advice and referrals are provided by a consulting physician.
