ABOUT INTERCEPT ASSOCIATES IN FEDERAL WAY, WA

Intercept Associates, located in Federal Way, Washington, offers outpatient treatment to adults struggling with drug and alcohol dependency. The facility was founded in 1984 and also offers various courses meeting court order requirements for anger management, shoplifting, and substance abuse.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

To be admitted to Intercept Associates, potential clients must contact the facility directly to schedule an evaluation. The facility offers an outpatient program, an Intensive Outpatient Program, and a Relapse Prevention Program. In addition, Intercept Associates offers walk-in urinalysis, individualized counseling sessions, family intervention, Anger Management classes, Alcohol/Drug Information School (ADIS), and a Consumer Awareness Program. Completion reports for all Intercept Associates programs can be sent to court or probation officers when necessary.

The Outpatient Program at Intercept Associates is designed for individuals who have been diagnosed with substance abuse, but who are not completely dependent on alcohol and substances. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for clients who have been diagnosed as early or middle stage alcoholic/chemically dependent. The IOP lasts for nine months when completed during the day, or eight months when completed in the evenings.

The Relapse Prevention Program is intended for individuals who have completed recovery and suffered a relapse. In both the Intensive Outpatient Program and the Relapse Prevention Program, clients are required to attend support group meetings twice a week. Clients in all three programs are required to maintain total abstinence from alcohol and other mind-altering chemicals and must also submit to random drug screening.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team at Intercept Associates is made up of seven employees, including an Executive Director, four Chemical Dependency Professionals, a Receptionist, and an Admissions Counselor.

REVIEWS

At the time of this writing, there have been two friends or family members of clients polled by Best-rehabs.com. The reviewers wrote mostly positive things about the facility, and one of them said they would recommend it to others. The anonymous loved ones each gave the facility three out of five stars for treatment effectiveness. One of the reviewers gave Intercept Associates four stars for accommodations and amenities and two stars for meals and nutrition. They agreed that there are many counseling options to choose from, agreed that the facility is adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems, and agreed that facility staff are experienced and well-trained.

They felt strengths of the facility were the convenience of the program and having multiple counseling sessions per week in the beginning of treatment. When asked how the facility could improve, one reviewer stated that the cost of the program was not covered by insurance. The other reviewer said her loved one could have used more guidance with how to cope after treatment was over.

On the facility’s Google page, there is an overall rating of 3.5 out of five stars based on four total reviews.[1] The facility’s Yelp page has an overall rating of 2.5 stars based on three total reviews.[2] Reviewers either gave Intercept Associates excellent ratings or very poor ratings. Alum D.L., who gave five stars, wrote about several staff members who had impacted her during her treatment at Intercept Associates. She wrote “I had the best service from this treatment center! Nancy the owner and her daughter are so work drivin but still look up to u after their paperwork is filled out to give u a smile.” L.M., a friend of a client, did not agree with that viewpoint. She gave one star and wrote, “It’s like these ‘specialists’ don’t understand addiction at all…I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone serious about getting help.”

FINANCING

There is currently no information provided by the facility regarding the cost of outpatient treatment or relapse prevention. However, Intercept Associates provides pricing information for other services. An evaluation to determine the need for treatment is $120, an 8-hour anger management class is $100, Alcohol/Drug Information School (ADIS) is $85, and the Consumer Awareness Program is $75. The facility accepts Medicaid, and treatment is available to individuals who meet low-income eligibility guidelines. Multiple meetings and counseling sessions per week in the beginning how to cope after treatment were nice. My family member was told to not hang around the friends he has known since grade school/they were not the bad influence/my family member had the problem/they wanted to help.
