Quality Addiction Management (QAM)

Quality Addiction Management (QAM), located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, provides outpatient detoxification treatment to adults struggling with addiction to narcotics. The facility was established in 1984 by two medical doctors and has been offering treatment for narcotic addiction since 1997. Quality Addiction Management operates additional facilities throughout Wisconsin in Racine, West Milwaukee, Green Bay, Beloit, Madison, and Sheboygan.

Individuals seeking admission should call their local QAM facility. Prior to admission, clients must undergo a physical examination and complete an initial intake history assessment. Most Quality Addiction Management facilities are open from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and from 7 AM to 10 AM on Saturdays.

The facility’s treatment program utilizes methadone to eliminate cravings and physical withdrawal symptoms. Methadone, a synthetic opiate, is administered orally under the supervision of medical doctors. According to QAM, methadone treatment may cause manageable mild side effects. In addition to receiving prescribed methadone, clients participate in individual and group therapy, treatment planning, health counseling, a yearly physical examination, and urine drug testing.

Treatment aims to ensure client comfort, facilitate recovery, eliminate cravings and drug use, and improve various aspects of life functioning such as employment, family relationships, and physical and emotional health. Quality Addiction Management operates in a confidential environment reminiscent of a private medical practice.

The treatment team at Quality Addiction Management consists of two medical doctors, both certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

The one alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com gave QAM’s Waukesha facility a positive review. The anonymous client rated the facility four out of five stars for affordability and family participation, and five stars for cleanliness. Despite facing challenges with insurance acceptance, the alumnus deemed the facility worth the cost. In additional commentary, they noted, “Standard methadone maintenance program.”

On the facility’s unofficial Facebook page, it has an overall rating of three out of five stars based on two reviews. One reviewer awarded Quality Addiction Management five out of five stars without providing any commentary. The other reviewer, an alum, gave one star and accused QAM management of being driven by monetary motives. Their comment read, “I had the WORST experience here and was kicked off the program for SOMEONE ELSE stealing my doses! I told them this and begged him not to discharge me as I have children that I must care for.”

Although Quality Addiction Management does not provide specific cost information, it describes itself as a low-cost facility. QAM accepts Medicaid and T-19 coverage. Clients are advised to contact the facility directly for more details on treatment costs.
