ABOUT SUNRISE LODGE

Among the nonprofit Riverbend Center for Mental Health’s multiple centers is Sunrise Lodge, a residential treatment facility in Russellville that exclusively serves adult men struggling with alcohol and substance abuse.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The program at Sunrise Lodge incorporates a mix of individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Clients are introduced to community self-help and study groups, while receiving education on addiction and relapse prevention. Programming also addresses the development of life skills through workshops designed to address self-esteem, stress management, and family dynamics.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to its website, Riverbend employs over 160 staff members, some of whom are full-time psychiatrists.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Few details regarding the center’s housing facilities are available, however, the four alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mostly four- or five-star ratings for Sunrise Lodge’s accommodations and meals. Regarding recreational activities, one reviewer wrote: “We also played volleyball and had a garden.”

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Alumni reviews are scarce, but what is available is generally positive. The four alumni who were surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing gave the program’s treatment effectiveness an average rating of four out of five stars. “I learned a lot about myself, and I learned there is a life to live without addiction and how my addiction hurt my loved ones,” Gregory wrote. The one CiteHealth reviewer shared a similar experience. In a five-star review, an anonymous alum wrote: “7 months clean thanks to sunrise and my life has never been better. The staff there is amazing and really cares about everyone who comes through the door.” [1]

Yet the same group of alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com gave the center’s holistic options an average rating of just 2.25 stars, and two alumni noted that the program’s faith-based component was lacking. “The family one on one sessions, an therein opening up, was a strength of the facility. However, they need more religion,” an anonymous reviewer wrote.

FINANCING

According to Riverbend’s website, the center works with most health insurance companies. No pricing is provided by the facility, but alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com gave the facility’s affordability an average rating of 4.75 stars.

  • I like that there was a small patient load. While the intent of the small staff was honorable, the feeling that it was just an insurance asset for the company.

  • It was an overall good facility; however, they need better holistic options and family involvement.

  • They care and want to see you exceed in life as the person they know you can be. I just wish it was more faith based. I was at the bottom when I got there, during the 28 days I learned a lot about myself, and I learned there is a life to live without addiction and how my addiction hurt my loved ones; it was a path to finding myself and bringing me out of the path of darkness I was in.
