ABOUT BUDDY’S HOUSE
Based out of Yuba City, Calif., 43 miles north of Sacramento, Buddy’s House is a network of transitional, sober living homes for adults in early or middle recovery. In most cases, residents have completed a primary treatment program before transitioning into one of the sober living facilities. Buddy’s House serves residents of Butte, Sacramento, Colusa, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba Counties.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
As transitional living homes, assessments may not be necessary for admission. However, clients may have to demonstrate a period of recover time before admission. To provide an appropriate level of supervision and support, which is based on a resident’s recovery time, Buddy’s House provides two phases of sober living.
During Phase 1, Buddy’s House offers a more controlled environment to provide adequate support for individuals in early recovery. During this phase of residency, clients attend on-site, peer-led 12-step meetings regularly and receive ongoing peer support. Residents of Buddy’s House are required to both obtain employment or be actively seeking employment while maintaining a lifestyle conducive to recovery.
Although residents are encouraged to obtain employment, clients in Phase 1 may need to adhere to certain restrictions, such as curfews and a more structured schedule. Buddy’s House will also make references to treatment centers, detox facilities, and outpatient programs for residents in Phase 1, if necessary.
After Phase 1, clients may transition into Phase 2 of the sober living program. During this phase, clients must still maintain the accountability of their personal recovery, but residents also enjoy increased freedom and autonomy. For instance, residents are allowed to host guest in the home during Phase 2. Resident may live in the home during Phase 2 for as long as needed.
